This is one of the easier Atlus games, so I was able to make it through several stages before getting stumped.Pros:— Most of the in game functions can be done via touch screen.— The main character can change outfits in order to use different abilities.— There are a variety of weapons in the game.— The game is difficult enough to be challenging, but not so much so that it isn’t fun.— Combat takes place in real time, using the stylus to control the main character, with an attack and defense mode.Cons:— The design of the touch screen controls makes it difficult to switch between atk/def modes.— When you tap an NPC, options to attack him appear right next to the talk command. I’ve lost count of the number of times that I have accidentally killed NPCs this way.— All of your stats level up with use, e.g. getting hit increases your HP. And to beat some bosses, you have to grind up your stats.— The outfits that unlock your elemental powers are kind of hidden, which means you can miss them. This can be problematic because your elemental powers also level up through use, so if you miss an outfit and find it later, that elemental power will be severely under leveled compared to your other abilities.— To recover, you eat food. Unfortunately your character has to digest his food before he can eat again. This takes between 1 and 5 minutes in real time.— The first boss is annoying because you won’t have any recovery magic yet, and you won’t be able to eat enough f.

This game was very interesting it played like a computer game, has a great story line with plenty of wacky, kookiness from the professor, and has descent graphics too. The view is from above and the attack system unique but easily handled. It’s RPG play leaves lots of options for customizing weapons and armor. So many little tidbits and places to explore. I recomment this to action/ adventure fans.

I love the way this game gives you the freedom to walk around everywhere. You can have over 15 different weapons which makes the gameplay far more interesting than I’d ever imagined. You can change into different clothes which actually is important in helping you progress through the game. It’s not a normal style of gameplay, but an interesting one to say the least. While it’s hardly the best game you can find on the market, it’s certainly unique.

I love this game with my heart and soul. Even if it’s weirdness isn’t for everyone

Contact is a greatly hyped game by Atlus Inc. You (the player) have made contact with an enigmatic professor who is being chased by an unknown group. The ship is damaged, and while on the ground abducts a teenager named Terry. The game claims that it is like nothing ever seen before, but to be honest a lot of what you see in this game is fairly cliché. That’s intentional actually; the game takes great pleasure in mocking gaming stereotypes: the villains (inter-galactic space terrorists) hide their identities as an underground rock group, and the government has a cloning program in the works (warning: one of the clones has escaped, codenamed Snake!)That said, Contact plays fairly well. Combat is pretty hands-off, as you direct Terry to attack an enemy, and then sit back and watch him go at it. You have the option of changing Terry’s costume, and recieve bonuses or penalties based on the outfit you are wearing. Some are more physical in nature and others give you magical abilities. My major issues with the game is how under the radar it is. You have to have a good knowledge of current events and fads in order to understand the in game jokes (The professor in one scene mocks the Riiiiiiiiiidge Racer! comment from E3.) Without this knowledge, a good portion of the game’s humor goes right over your head. Also the game is extremely short—maybe 10 hours in length. That’s a real shame, because the game does have many memorable and original scenes. Unfortuneately, many of t.

    Short-ish game, but really endearing.

This is a weird little game. it’s crazy, unique, and so incredibly fun and addictive it’s insane. If you like earthbound, and killer seven, you’ve just found their love child.

I’m a huge RPG player for what it’s worth. I was expecting something a bit different with this title. It has many great reviews and often gets compared to one of my favorite SNES games “Earthbound”, so I gave it a shot since it was like 10 bucks on retrolio as it’s been out a few years now.For one thing, the story is pretty boring. Aside from the occasionally witty dialog and constant references to old classic video games, there isn’t much else in the way of a “story”. “Some bad guys have some crystals that you need back” is the extent of it. The quirk is, you play well, you, and you have some sort of magical power to control a poor guy named terry. Some professor lives on the top screen and basically gives you powerups at the end of each brief mission. That’s all you really need to know. It’s neat, but not enough to pull the game.Fighting consists of walking near something while terry is in “angry mode”. So, you toggle angry mode on, walk near a bad guy, and terry starts swinging. That’s basically it. It all comes down to “are you leveled up enough to kill this monster”. Sure, you can use potions and other healing items, but they require cold hard cash, that you get from leveling up and killing things… There is some business about cooking your own healing stuff but it was so ill-explained that you would have no clue how to make more than say, 2 or 3 things through the whole game without a strategy guide since there are a TON of items, most of which are completel.
