this may be the best mini system out there.Unlike the previous third party AtGames machines ( I have two of them ) that had extremely poor quality emulation, this is an amazing console which will send you back to the ’90s in a wonderful nostalgia trip!this unit an amazing example of how a CLASSIC/MINI console should be made. love it awesome system. Nostalgia overload here I’m. I must buy… in future version I hope to see it get bundled with a 6 button controller’sLove it

Sega did a fantastic job. Emulation is on point. The box is identical to my original bought in the 90s. The 3 button controllers are from the original release with red letters and the grey background on the Genesis logo. Their attention to detail for the console is the best I’ve seen yet – no cheap plastic or corner cutting. Just need an NA release of the Tower of Power and it’ll be perfect.

We bought this not only as a retro gaming system for us, but to see how our younger kids would fare with a gaming system before investing in something far more expensive. First let me say, this brought back such happy memories for my husband and I. We love so many of the games this comes with. They look just as we remembered it. And the remotes respond easily and quickly to our desired play. My kids were happy and found it quite easy to pick up and play these games. They like the retro graphics of these games and think it’s cool to play the very same video games we used to play as kids. My husband and I have stayed up late playing against each other, which is always fun! I honestly have nothing negative to say about this. As casual gamers, we found this to be a great deal at under 35 bucks and are happy with our purchase.

I never had a Genesis as a kid I had the SNES, I have bought the mini version of that as well. I did play a lot of these games at my friend’s house as a kid. It has been nice getting so play some of the classics. Some of the games on the list are just filler and are not very good. I think the quality of the SNES games is better even though there are less. I also dropped a star because I don’t understand why they didn’t just include the updated gamepad that came out on the Genesis. You can buy these but would have been nice to have that just included. There are at least two games that would have helped to have those in the box. Solid system though and very cool toy to add to my collection.

I love this thing! I own an original console but dragging out the real deal and setting it up on a modern screen can be a hassle especially if you want to save space or bring it over to a friend’s house. While it doesn’t feel like exactly the same as playing on an original, it does a good job of catching the general experience with the benefit of convenience. The emulation is fairly good. The sound isn’t exact but is decent enough to play and never is unpleasant. The input lag for me was negligible. Things I might have liked to see is better implementation of dithering/transparency to imitate CRTs, possibly different sound options to better imitate the audio between the different original Genesis models, and maybe (dreaming big here) a more open source approach to the game selection. It would be lovely to natively allow for game additions rather than taking the future hacking route. That being said, perfection is ideal but hard to achieve and the Sega Genesis Mini seems to get most of the experience right with some small but expected flaws. For now, the game selection is adequate and they have made a great emulation box for the casual setup that captures the general experience well. It comes well recommend for those who know what to expect.

There are two minis you can find. The Sega Genesis HD mini is the ATGames version, and it’s got some great games on it, but the menu system stinks! Then there’s the SEGA published one, which runs flawlessly and is a step above the AT Games version. But do yourself a favor and get the both. There’s enough variation in the games to warrant doing this. Just … get both.

The people who are putting bad reviews must be 8 years old. I grew up playing Genesis and this mini console is perfect! Beautifully crafted and just plain awesome all around! The games are a blast to play and the emulation and sound are dead on! You will not regret this purchase if you grew up on Sega and Nintendo!

You know it would of been nice if sega did added the Sonic the hedgehog series including Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Knuckles in Sonic 2 and Golden Axe 2, Golden Axe 2 is not on the Sega Genesis Mini????? 😕 why Golden axe 2 not included in the sega Genesis mini???? 😕 and Golden Axe 3??????? 😕 and Streets of Rage??????, Only the second one is in the mini and not the first and 3rd one???? 😕 hmmm does that mean Sega is planning to do a mini deluxe edition to add all of their library??, I know sega is planning for a Dreamcast mini and possibly the Saturn mini or deluxe :D <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 :D but!! 😌 Overall the Dreamcast Mini would be POG!!! 😆 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 :D .

I’m a sucker for these retro mini consoles. I own the NES classic, SNES classic and Genesis Mini and each of them are wonderful in their own right. My personal belief is that, of the 3 (I haven’t played with the NeoGeo or TurboGraphx minis) the Genesis nailed the hardware and user interface most completely, while the library of games included, while impressive in breadth, lags behind its Nintendo cousins.First, the machine itself is beautiful and perfectly recreates the Genesis on a miniature scale. Every detail was thought of and it really does come off as a labor of love from Sega. The controllers are a perfect recreation of the 3 button originals. They’re a bit clunky for some games, but faithfully clunky :). It’s understandable but still a shame that they didn’t include the six button controllers, especially since they included Street Fighter 2, which is for all intents and purposes unplayable with the 3 button controller (sorry but I’m not hitting the start button each time I want to switch from kick to punch). There are a few good options out there for 6 button controllers (I like the 8bitDo M30 but there are also officially Sega licensed versions from Retro-bit) but they cost almost as much again as the mini itself. A real big plus that the Genesis has over the Nintendo controllers is the length of the cords. They are a decent length, long enough that you should usually be able to sit a decent distance from your TV or monitor without having to use an extension cord. T.

Of all the mini consoles, this one is my favorite.I love the games included, the Easter eggs of changing regions for different game versions, the menu music, and the way things sort.I’m openly biased as I was a big Sega Genesis kid over the SNES when they were the current systems, and I own the SNES mini and play the games often- but this just feels cozy to meMy one gripe is the controller is slightly too sensitive. This is normally unnoticed, but in a game like MegaMan, precision is key.Does this make me want to give it a 4 instead of a 5? Nope. It’s my opinion, make your own.And Road Rash. Definitely play Road Rash.
