Ahh! I love Fire Emblem. The series is amazing and I’ve played every game I can get my hands on.Awakening had a great story line and introduced a lot of new mechanics that were not present in previous games. The characters are fun and the My Unit customization really makes the game feel like it’s your own.Another great quality is its replayability. I’ve played through Awakening probably 7 or 8 times and it’s still entertaining. Well worth the money.
The characters are great, the romance system is engaging and fun. The game uses time travel in a way this isn’t awful. The grinding is fun. There are three different kinds of graphics the cut scenes go back and forth between 3d sprites, and anime style art. The map is sorta lame but it grows on you as the game progress’. This game did well in the sales department so I really hope to see further installments of the fire emblem franchise. You get to create your own character you are given a good amount of options in image and voice. The storyline gets a tad cornball towards the end but it has no effect on how good this game is.
I have played some Fire Emblems games before mainly the ones on the GBA and Ibought this expecting the same but i was wrong it’s so much better. For one the pairing up system adds a new way to play by allowing you to put two units together and build up their bond to each other making them more effective as a team during battle and if you pair up a male unit with a female unit and reach the highest bond level they become married and can have a kid which can be used in battles and paired up with other units to make them stronger in battle. The gameplay is basicly the same as previous entries in the franchise you have your units on one side and the enemy on the other side or completely surrounding you the only difference now is that depending on the difficulty you choose ( Casual, Normal, Hard) your units can be still be used even if they fall in battle or if you choose normal difficulty they are gone for ever if they die during battle.Graphics are in 2D most of the time only switching to 3D when the attack animation takes place which look pretty good by the way. This game has ton of replayability, if you choose to play through the story again just to pair up the units with others or the wealth of DLC available you can meet Characters from the past Fire Emblem games and have them join your army. Definitely one of the best games released on 3DS and this year, It’s one of the BEST GAMES EVER MADE !!!!!!! play it you won’t be dissapointed.
I never played a single Fire Emblem game before and the last tactical RPG I played was Pokemon Conquest which I found AWFUL. Since Shin Megumi Tensei is planning a crossover with Fire Emblem, I decided to give the Fire Emblem franchise a try. Fire Emblem: Awakening satisfied my tactical RPG itch. I love how the gameplay kept my attention. I felt I was being rewarded for any efforts I made on level-grinding, weapon upgrading, and actually stopping to THINK before heading into battle. Almost all the battles didn’t seem outright unfair and you can win them all if you’re prepared. Any losses that occurred I can blame only myself rather than the game. The DLC and bonus contents are worthwhile and gives ample opportunities to hone your skills. Especially since you can recruit characters from past games to fight alongside you. (Having Sigrun in my ranks saved me SO many times!!)The art style is beautiful and this is so far the only game I want to play in 3D the whole time. I wish however more attention was given to the hair on some of the 3D models. I personally don’t think hair going thru clothes and people is acceptable anymore considering the budget this game must have had.I do have two somewhat petty reasons I don’t like about this game: the story and the use of voice actors. The main story while a 1000% better than Pokemon Conquest which had nothing…the story in Awakening is kinda generic and predictable. Typical RPG plot points with no real surprises to speak of. They make up.
Ok, so I admit I am a senior citizen (female) who enjoys playing video games. This was a totally engrossing game. Loved that I could create my own character and it was fun following her throughout the game. I liked that you could choose "Auto" when playing with a team of 16 players. I could put my main characters where I wanted them or give them an item and then let the rest of the team move via Auto. This game has spoiled me for others like Bravery Default.Loved the story line and character interaction.Give me more like this!
I freaking love Fire Emblem. This game got me re-addicted to the series. I played the GBA versions years ago, but have abandoned the franchise since. But then, I compulsively ordered this game to see what the new Fire Emblem is like.Seriously, I had a normal life, and now I basically live on the Fire Emblem reddit page and Facebook group. It’s so good. This game is really fun, just give it a try! Newcomers to the series will love it, too. The difficulty is totally adjustable, so you can make this game anything from a slightly interactive movie/dating simulator to a brutal tactical game of strategy. You need this in your life.
Bought this as a gift and he loved it.
This is my first step into real Fire Emblem (I had been interested before, but only really considered it when I played Fire Emblem Heros). I first borrowed this game from my local library, so that I could try it before I really considered buying it. I am very glad I did and I am pleased to say I enjoyed the game. I bought my game used, but it had never been played before. I am happy with my purchase and cannot wait to play it to the fullest. Thank you ngarage!
Decided to pick up this game after hearing rave reviews from everyone who has played it, and let me just tell you that they are spot on correct. This is one of the best games I’ve played recently, on any platform. The story is great, the characters are well developed, and there is TONS of content.I ‘accidentally’ overslept this morning so I could squeeze in a few battles before work, it’s just that addicting. Highly recommend it to anyone that has played games like Advance Wars or Final Fantasy Tactics
This game appeals to a huge crowd. The uninitiated and experienced alike can have a lot of fun getting to know these characters and planning out these battles. My major complaint would be that there’s no middle ground in this game’s difficulty. It’s either impossible or rather easy… But it’s still a really fun game with a lot of replay value.
