I loved it .
Good Morning America –
I bought my psp at launch, and am still not only enjoying everything the system has to offer (watching movies, playing games, listening to music etc.) but I’m still discovering hidden little gems like this one. This is an old school turn based rpg with fantastic graphics, and well paced action and difficulty. Story is nothing ground breaking, but serviceable, but it’s ok, the production and game play make up for any minor complaints.my only complaint is the lack of a mapping system (especially for the dungeons. Encounters are a double edged sword, on the one hand they are sp frequent that your charaters level up fast, which is incredibly addictive. Unfortunately, when you’re looking for a town or trying to get through a dungeon they can be a bit of nusiuance. That said, this game is fun, gorgeous, and actually has some touching moments. The music is fine, once again nothing spectacular. On a console this would be a lesser game, but on a handheld, this whole package is astonishing, loved this game from beginning to end.

It’s a great game! The story is a bit simple, but it’s entertaining. The characters are all likable except the main character, who is silent, a pet peeve of mine. But other than that, it was good fun all the way through. There’s a lot of text, rather than voice acting, which could put off some people, but everything else is sound. There’s some nice usage of soft filtering on the characters that really make the graphics look nice. The combat system is a little different, offering combination attacks among members of your party, and your mana refills as you attack. If you’re into turn based RPGs, you’ll enjoy this one. It plays it safe as far as innovation goes, but it’s still a great game.I don’t remember any loading times, so they must have been short, and I didn’t encounter any technical problems whatsoever. No worries there.Recommended!

Being older I am more used to the Final Fantasy series of RPGs. However I found this one very interesting, good game play and story line with cool colorful characters I would recomend this game to a friend

On my top ten psp games. Great story a gameplay.

Very similar in gameplay to the upgraded remakes of classic Final Fantasy RPGs like 3 and 4 for both the PSP and the DS, but has its own “extras” like bird hunting and its own unique accessory crafting element. I’m not deep in the game but I’m enjoying the story thus far and would highly reccomend this for fans of classic turn based RPG play like Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, etc.

The quality is still good even though it’s a refurbished item. I was enjoying it through last summer. Highly recommended

The title for the review says it all. It is a turn-based Japanese role-playing game that takes the battle system from old RPGs and spices it up (a little). The story and characters can be somewhat childish at times, but the game is rated everyone. (what did you expect?) The dialogue is excellent. Although some character models may look the same, the dialogue manages to separate them fairly well. The only downside would be that the game is fairly easy. Puzzles are very simple, and the bosses can most often be beat on first encounter. Saves and life replenishers are placed before every boss or difficult area, and the towns can be somewhat linear. Other than that, a few cool side quests or optional, rewarding activities keep the game unique. Simply put, if you like games like Final Fantasy or other JRPGs, then give Brave Story a go.

There are hardly any original RPGs on the PSP. There are ports and re-releases, but nothing that’s truly unique enough to stand out. That may be what’s so attractive about Brave Story: New Traveler. It’s an RPG that isn’t a port or re-release, and it also isn’t a spinoff or anything like that. Those with a PSP craving for a decent RPG will have found one with Brave Story. So far, it may very well be the best RPG on the system.Brave Story begins with a guy named Tatsuya playing his PSP while his friend Miki tries to talk to him. Yes, the main character is a gamer and it plays off the typical stereotypes. Guy plays game; girl tries to talk him; guy is too immersed in his game to care or listen. After she tires of being ignored, Miki runs off. Tatsuya’s dog, Kratos then comes to him barking like there’s no tomorrow. Tatsuya then follows the dog and finds Miki has collapsed. It turns out that Miki has fallen ill and that she may very well die. Tatsuya then runs out of the hospital. When he does he hears a voice that opens presents a door to him. Walking through this door is the pathway to Tatsuya’s destiny. Through this door is a whole new world full of magic and mystery… kind of like the games he plays. At first glance the storyline is enough to make you roll your eyes in disgust, but stick with it (at least past the intro) and the game turns out to be really fun in the end, and even the storyline is quite impressive in its own right. The story is well written.
