This game made me love the The Legend of Zelda series.I started playing Zelda games with the GBC entries–which I couldn’t beat—and later the DS games. I didn’t think much of them until I played this game. Although this game is a sequel it is very beginner friendly and introduces you to the general gist of the series in an elegant way through murals in Hyrule Castle. There’s a wish granting triangle thingy, an evil man who kidnaps a princess and wants his wishes granted and You who rescue the princess and put away this evil man… Familiar enough with many people young and old and then you are thrown into this game’s version of the story!!! The game is pretty easy to understand and the puzzles are a lot of fun. You have a lot of freedom in beating the game and if you buy all the items and upgrade them it’s kinda like you get to play the game in easy mode. It is all very enjoyable. I’ve played this game 5 times since it’s release and it is my favorite Zelda game for the 3ds. Thanks to it, I was motivated to try OoT and MM and loved them as well. I am playing Triforce Heroes in single player right now and out of those 4 Zelda games for the 3DS, I think A Link Between Worlds is the best. DOn’t believe me? Check it out yourself and be the judge.

Pay no attention to the one and two star reviews (unless you’re looking for a good laugh). They were written by whiney youngsters who never played the early Zelda games. A Link Between Worlds is a perfect throwback to A Link to the Past, with the same 3rd person "birds eye view" perspective, updated graphics and a very creative story line. This Legend of Zelda game is less drawn out and lengthy than the newer games, and yes, is a bit simpler than others in the series… but it really is a fantastic game with a creative new spin (Link’s ability to become a portrait and move 2 demensionally along walls). It makes for incredible in-game puzzle/problem solving.Yes "renting" tools is a little frustrating, but easily solved by saving regularly and transporting between save points. Rupees and health are easy to come by, so if you’re dying frequently and can’t afford to rent equipment, the issue is most likely operator error. The game is smooth and well developed, and at a perfect intermediate skill level, allowing anyone ages 7(+) to enjoy it. I highly recommend A Link Between Worlds – again, this is an excellent nod to a Link to the Past. A must-have.

Absolutely wonderful and awesome game. I’ve been a Zelda fan for a while and this did not disappoint, as I had a smile all the way through. I loved the nostalgic feel it had from A Link to the Past, its cool visuals, as well as its great modified versions of beloved Zelda themes, like the "jazz" version of Zelda’s Lullaby. I greatly appreciated how they took elements from A link to the Past and other Zelda games while still being its own game. Also, the dungeons in this game are really good, providing an excellent variation of puzzle-solving and a more unique experience than expected. Another cool feature to the dungeons is that they are very open-ended, meaning you can do almost all the dungeons any order you want. Though this game felt somewhat easier than I wanted, its overall fun experience easily gets it a spot on my Top 5 Zelda games. This game is must-play for any Zelda fan or just a fan of A Link to the Past. And even if you’ve never played a Zelda game before, you are almost sure to have a great time with hours of entertainment. In short, I highly recommend this game and believe it is the absolute best games for the 3DS.

It’s a fun game to play. I enjoyed revisiting the world of A Link to the Past. The new wall walking ability made some of the puzzles really interesting to figure out. I didn’t like losing all my items and having to rent them again every time my character died. Some of the mini games are just too difficult for me. I don’t think I ever earned more than 15 rupees in the baseball game and I’m lucky to last ten seconds in the cucco dodging game. I liked finding all the lost baby maiamais. All in all, a must have game for Zelda fans.

Been playing Zelda games for years, not a fan boy just a casual player. I never cared for the top down games as much (and I grew up when they were new), but this is different. I love this game, and the wall walking is great–as is the non-linear play style. This is only second to OOT. Highly recommended.

This is a pretty great game, to say the least, but not the best Zelda game I’ve played but I still had fun with it. Gameplay wasn’t really that hard and it looks as if the game only appeals to more casual gamers around. I beat the game once so far and currently playing through it again on Hero Mode. which is pretty tough. Story is unique, some decent characters as well. and the level designs could’ve been a lot better. but still fun.Overall, I give the game an 8.5/10. Even though it’s not my Game of the Year (that honor goes to Super Mario 3D World), I still had a blast with this game. Recommended for all Zelda fans like myself and newcomers around.

Really enjoyed it, im a big LOZ fan. Not a MASSIVE one like i know a lot of people are. But I always check to see whats new in links world and I am not disappointed with this installment. This is a great entry game as well as a sequel. It was fun figuring out all the puzzles in the dungeons, not boring like a lot of puzzles in games nowadays. There’s alway something to do .. Obviously until you’ve done everything though.. But even then.. you can do hero mode!

I will preface this by saying that I own and have beat every Zelda game except for the original two for the NES. Very few of them would rank lower than five stars to me. But the last two portable titles in the series were somewhat disappointing. They both had interesting new ideas, but seemed to focus exclusively on these to the detriment of classic gameplay. A Link Between Worlds strikes a perfect balance. I could forget while playing it that this was not just a 3D remake of A Link To The Past, and this sometimes got me stuck, as the new feature of merging into walls is required to solve many of the puzzles. If you love the classic Zelda games, this one is for you. And if you have never played a Zelda game, this would be a good introduction, seeing as it starts off very easy.

The best video game of 2013, hands down.I literally get paid to write video game reviews for magazines. This is the sharpest, most well-designed action-puzzle-adventure game in years, and one of the finest entries to the Zelda series. It’s absolutely a must-buy for 3DS owners.Notes:- 3D is OK occasionally, but I played the majority of the game with it off- Requires roughly 12-16 hours to beat- I’ve played video games for 15 years and loved this game. My girlfriend has played video games for 0 years and loved this game.- Especially meaningful if you played A Legend of Zelda: A Link the the Past (1991)

I got worried about the Zelda series after playing Skyward Sword. That game had incredible graphics and music, but it had lousy controls, and many of the repeated activites (such as the hot/cold activity called "Dowsing") were annoying and overused.None of those elements are present in this game, controls are tight and responsive, and there aren’t any annoying repetitive activities. Music and graphics are still excellent, as well. My faith in the Zelda series has been restored, and I am eagerly looking forward to a new LoZ title for the Wii U!
