I love the Legend of Zelda franchise and this is no exception. The problem solving in the dungeons is well done and takes me a while to figure stuff out, forcing me to really think. The maimai subquest is really fun and makes exploration a must for this game. One major downside is unlike the other game, sub items are not found in dungeons and instead are rented or sold by a guy in your house, but this makes rupees even more important in this game than any other and in most Zelda games, I rarely even use rupees.

Until the release of Breath of the Wild, this was my favorite Zelda game. This is WELL above Ocarina of Time [even the 3d version] or Wind Waker (yes, I know, THE HORROR). In terms of handheld entries to this franchise, this is by far the most fun I’ve had playing Zelda. The core mechanic of merging into a 2d space to solve puzzles is worked in really nicely, and it’s used about as far as it can go without overextending its usefulness (which is hard to do with Zelda gimmicks/mechanics).Admittedly, it does pull its map and Light World/Dark World transition from A Link to the Past, but it works much more nicely. I think the ability to switch between worlds at various cracks in the wall (rather than having to go way back to your one warp spot) works better. If you liked Link to the Past, you’ll probably like this game. If you like Zelda and are looking for a challenge, especially in Hero Mode, I’d recommend this over any other Zelda game. Except for Breath of the Wild, of course, that takes the cake. But ignoring that, this is well worth the price and its replayability is much higher than other Zelda games.

This is one of the many games Nintendo has released in the last year that are just stupidly good. Every decision they made seems to work for me. All the little nuances that you might find annoying (like losing your gear on death) give way to means to avoid them (permanently purchasing the item). Each dungeon has a great feel to it both aesthetically and design wise. I can’t really find anything about this game that gave me grief other than it feeling a little light on secrets.Though each time I say that I find a new secret. So maybe they just did a great job of hiding things.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past has always been my favorite Zelda game for many reasons, but A Link Between Worlds takes it to a whole new level like never before. In this world of Hyrule we get to revisit an area we haven’t seen in years and travel to another world similar to the Dark World yet very different. This game may be similar, but there are many things in it that are relative to other Zelda titles such as Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword. Anyways I just cleared my first play through of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and I must say it has the exact same appeal that A Link to the Past has. This game is new, lively, refreshing, and very nostalgic, but very much a breath of fresh air and a great homage to it’s predecessor. I’ve collected everything in the game, viewed the amazing ending, and unlocked Hero Mode for a more challenging difficulty the next play around. For anyone who wants an amazing Legend of Zelda filled with lots of new and old enemies/ puzzles look no further. This game is very well made, graphically beautiful, and all of the music from A Link to the Past is back and better than ever. This is one of the best original titles on the Nintendo 3DS and hopefully we get more like it in the near future!

I read that A Link Between Worlds was a sequel to A Link to the Past, I knew I had to play it.The game is a good game, but it isn’t as great. Bored me sometimes.A Link to the Past was one of my favorite games, the missions or task in a link between worlds and easy/predictable but if you want to relive that childhood you won’t regret buying it.

After all this time, I’ll review it. This is the most clever Zelda game in a long time, and most fun I’ve had with a Zelda game since the Ocarina of Time.A Link Between Worlds crushes the original DS titles, and the titles on GBA as well – taking the cake for best mobile Zelda with ease. The puzzles, are not obvious but not irritating, and leave you satisfied in solving them, you can play the game however order you’d like, everything is readily available from the start – yet still challenging. In summation – get this game.

Played the game myself and loved it, think of it as a hybrid of being a sort of HD remake of Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past combined with also being a sequel, this games biggest difference from the rest is going through the game and buying your equipment instead of dungeon crawling for them, which in turns means you can go through any dungeon in any order so replaying won’t seem boring at all. I bought this as a gift for a friend and he agrees it’s a great game as well.

As a big fan of the SNES Zelda game A Link to the Past, this game did not disappoint. I really liked that you could play the game in any order you wished since you have the opportunity to use all the items from the start. It really opens up the game to personalized gameplay and adventure. It is enough like the original SNES game to feel familiar, but new enough to not feel boring or a remake.

Playing this game was like hitting the rewind button and going back to my youth when I spent countless hours playing ‘A Link To The Past’. I was in high school when ‘LTTP’ came out, and at the time I think it was my favorite video game I’ve ever played…it still ranks right up near the top today with maybe only ‘Ocarina of Time’ and ‘Chrono Trigger’ challenging it for my favorite of all time.So imagine my delight when I first put this game into my 3DS and basically saw the same look and feel of that game I’ve loved for so long. I can’t say that this game was better than ‘Link To The Past’….but that may simply be because of the nostalgia of a game I enjoyed in my youth. But make no mistake, if you have played and enjoyed ‘LTTP’…I don’t see how you’re not gonna LOVE this game. I think it was genius of Nintendo to make a new game that looked and felt so much like a game made so long ago. A part of me wishes that they would release a version of this game for the Wii U simply so I could actually play it on my TV; I’m sure then it would feel even more like I was playing a true sequel to ‘LTTP’.Bottom line, this is a brilliant game that I enjoyed every single minute I played it. It’s not a hard game mind you…and it won’t take you as long to get through it as a game like ‘Ocarina of Time’ or ‘Windwaker’…but for someone like me who grew up with an Atari 2600 as a child, and then really stepped up to the big time with the NES and SNES…playing this game took me back a b.

I played A Link to the Past when I was a child, and it was many hours of adventuring and discovery. Upon hearing about the release of this game, I was very excited to know that it was set in the same world. If you played ALTTP, then this game will feel familiar, but fresh. Though the top-down orientation is the same, and most enemies are the same, the new graphics give them a new life of their own.The new game mechanic of becoming a painting is really something! It changes the way you see space, obstacles, and rooms! Puzzles become more challenging and unique. This is a game where the 3D effects are actually helpful in a few levels! The controls are also great. Link controls like a dream, and swinging your sword feels light and snappy. Sometimes you just want to cut grass for hours! At least I did.The system for gaining weapons is different this time around. Instead of predictably gaining a new weapon and using it to advance and defeat the boss at the end, you actually have access to all of your weapons and tools at the beginning if you’re willing to pay the rental fee to a shopkeeper. The difficulty increases when you realize that if you die, all of your rental items are immediately taken back to the shop and you have to pay to get them back! Money suddenly has value and having as much as possible becomes necessary for weapons and potions! There’s also a function of StreetPass that allows you to battle against the characters of other people. If you defeat them, you can gain a.
