  1. Triforce Of Power

A Boy And His Blob: Trouble On Blobolonia, while far from being one of the elite NES games, is certainly one of the more memorable games from yesteryear. While I normally write lengthy reviews of vintage video games, there really isn’t much to detail about this particular title. The story is simple, the controls are simple, and the game is simple. A boy meets a blob from an alien planet, and they team up to search the underground labyrinth beneath the city streets to find treasure. Bring the treasure back to the streetside and use it to buy vitamins. Then, travel to the alien planet and defeat the evil emperor and save blobolonia.Much of the gameplay is focused on figuring out the obstacles. The boy has many different jellybean flavors, and feeding the blob different flavors of jelly beans causes him to turn into a different tool. For example, feeding the blob a punch-flavored jelly bean will cause the blob to turn into a hole that you can go through to reach the ground below; i.e., the blob will “punch a hole”. Or feeding the blob a lime jelly bean will cause him to turn into a key, the pun being “key lime” as in “key lime pie”.This game got very mixed reviews, and even back in the heyday I can recall that it certainly didn’t compare to the heavyweight elite NES games, such as Super Mario Bros 3, Megaman 3, or CastleVania 3. But despite the game’s shortcomings, it was an interesting game and still quite fun for a weekend rental. My only complaint about this game is the label..

I honestly like the game and got it for a friend who sadly told me that she already has it. Its a great fun little game and is definetely fun to play with some friends just to see who can get the farthest.

  3. Paulajszmall

    Great game

  4. Shar Drennan

This was my son’s favorite NES game and when I found it on ebay but minus the instruction booklet I grabbed it! THEN, wonder of wonders I also found the booklet! I have one happy son, at 32 he is playing his favorite boyhood game!! Thanks

  5. Davina/Debie

I bought this game because it was one of my favorites in the 80’s. Having lots of fun playing these games with my grandchildren. I think they actually like my "old" games better that the new ones they have at home! The 9 year old asked if he could inherit my nintendo & all my games when I die! LOL

    wonderful works great

  8. Cbash01

Game was a little glitchy at first, but after a good cleaning it seemed to work fine. This is not the best NES game ever made, but it did at least bring back a few good memories.

  9. Mathew Warren

    Great game, works fine!

  10. Mr. P
