This is the first time I’ve felt compelled to write a review on a game….I’m not a great PS 2 fan but this game is absolutely amazing!! The graphics are great, all the characters are really quite funny. I don’t understand why there’s a RP-M rating on it other than possibly the ‘thieving’ theme. I found it to be a challenge but not so frustrating that I would quit playing the game. You dodge lasers, sneak past ‘gangsters’, walk around in a barrel, you even get to operate a mini-sub, break into safes, learn new moves etc. etc. There’s lots of variety and I would highly recommend this game. My neighbor is now hooked on it as well….we ran to the store so she can buy her own copy today! My 8 year can’t wait to come home from school to start playing! Ultimately…lots of fun and action.

A childhood favorite back in my grasp, what I need to say is that this game brought back many memories and I was really excited to get this. Beating it again was just as relieving as the first time it brings many challenges and great mini games, the only problem is that the game’s driving missions are stale but I got the game in a brand new package so performance was great. Graphics I think were still a amazing as I remember. So to close I say this one is a great game and I recommend it to anyone.

Every once in a while along comes a sleeper of a game that takes you by surprise. On the Playstation 1 that game was Ape Escape. Now the PS2 offers up Sly Cooper. And man this is one racoon with some serious style!!Even though this may look like your average platform game, it is anything but. Sly Cooper takes advantage of unique Cel Shading graphics to give the game a 1940’s cartoon style that is very original. Sly Cooper’s hi res-graphics offer up plenty of detail, so much that you’ll be covering some of the same ground repeatedly because you want to make sure that you’ve seen the entire gamescape. The only criticism I have of the graphics is that occasionaly you’ll experience some slow down. But in a game this good it’s forgivable. The sounds is also top notch. Breaking glass, water dripping, and sneaky footsteps really bring a complete sensural experience. It’s no exagerration to say that this is probably one of the deepest games in terms of variety of gameplay that you’ll buy all year. Sucker Punch serves up healthy doses of cool moves including stealth, slow-mo jumps, invisibility and ninja spire jumps that you acquire as you gather different parts of the Cooper family book the Thieviuos Racoonus. All of these moves add new and compelling ways to play each level. The action is never dull or slow. And just when you think that you’ve done a level before, the crew of Sucker Punch throws in a mini-game to break up the level and provide a new challenge. The only thing that is.

Hmm… I wonder. Can I still give this game a perfect 5 stars despite the fact that it is not perfect? Sure I can! Why? Because the flaw is only in your mind!Ok ok, now that I have you all confused, I guess I’ll just have to explain myself. Everything about this game is utterly phenomenal, the Graphics drip with style and flair, the Sound is exceptionally well done, Gameplay is pure gaming goodness (my second favorite kind also, platformer), the Plot will grasp you tight, and well.. then there’s the Replayability. I will break everything down individually though, so that you can see more clearly what I think of this masterpiece.Graphics: 5 starsFor all those of you who have been living under a rock, in a cave, or on the moon these last couple of months, a new kind of graphics craze is headed to gaming, ”Cell-Shading.” Cell-shading is a technique that makes 3d animations look like cartoony sprites, but still retains a sharp crisp look. Unfortunately, many of these games end up looking like a kiddy title because of this. Sly Cooper however is able to master this design by mixing cell-shaded characters and objects with pure three dimensional backgrounds. The result is quite astounding and you’ll even enjoy watching other people play the game (but you’ll like playing it more yourself). Every level but one runs at a fantastic 60 fps, beautifully sharp and quick. There is a little slowdown in the swamp level of Mz. Ruby due to the enormous amount of detail, but that hardly makes.

I bought this game for my 8 year old recently. He has really been enjoying it. I’ve only played a few areas, but I thought it was fun also. I like that it has fun little mini games in it. Like trying to keep crabs from taking treasure chests into their holes. Or racing against these dogs and having to come in first to win a key. If you are thinking of getting this for a child I would say it is a little hard for a child much younger than 8. My son has played video games and computer games since he was pretty young. He has found a few of the mini game areas frustrating. Which is why I played them and it took me a few tries to beat them. :)As I tell my son, if it were too easy it wouldn’t be any fun. If you enjoy games like Jak and Daxter and Crash Bandicoot I think you will like this game.

This is without a doubt one of the best games the Playstation 2 has to offer. The graphics are outstanding. Way better than most PS2 games. XBox holds nothing over this game. The sound fits the games cartoonish style perfectly. The voice acting is right on the money. The level design is perfect. You’ll always have a sense of what to do. The controls are tight and simple. You can pick the game up and right away you’ll feel comfortable controlling Sly. Overall, this game is perfect. There’s not a thing wrong with it.Graphics: 5.0Sound: 5.0Control: 5.0Fun Factor: 5.0
