The graphics are stunning – what a wondrous world to explore. So stunning one readily forgets it’s also a very dangerous world.Such an unreal wist on an already fantastical story. A must play for anybody into darker themed games.
i bought the game finally because the bf got me hooked on it when he got it for his computer. so i thought it would be better on the game system which it is.
This is a very interesting take on the world of Wonderland. There have been a lot of remakes, stories, films, but not quite like this. There’s still whimsy, but in a much darker way. The thing I love most about this game is that it’s so easy to follow. You don’t really get lost, or wonder what’s going on. Another is that it’s so fun to watch. There’s always something insane/entertaining happening. Haven’t gotten too far into it, but overall a really great game. Definitely worth it.
I was always a fan of American Mcgee’s Alice, and I was thrilled to play Alice: Madness Returns when it came out. The graphics of this game definitely reach a form of beauty that is occasionally rare in modern games. The lovely gothic touch from the first game is also still present in this sequel despite it showing up in more limited quantities than in the first game. The combat system is significantly improved, and there is a gratifying feeling to slamming the hobby horse weapon into the ground. My only critiques might be that the game sometimes lacks a decent amount of enemies based on the domain the player is in, the game is a bit long with noticeable spaces of uneventfulness that could have been shortened down to create a better form of pacing, and I would have preferred even more gothic/morbid imagery in addition to the gothic imagery that is already there.In addition, the game American Mcgee’s Alice can be downloaded and accessed easily from the main menu of Alice: Madness Returns if you have the code that comes with a new purchase of the game. American Mcgee’s Alice does look upgraded a bit from the previous PC version, but not by much. They simply gave the Alice character, the Rabbit, and a few other characters better looking skins with higher detail, but the environment is unchanged. However, the Xbox 360/PS3 version of this "remastered" Alice game has certain problems. After purchasing this new version of American Mcgee’s Alice for my PC, I noticed th.
I bought this game for myself and I am 42 yrs old.. I have the PC version and it was fun.. I like that this has a disc and the code to download the entire ALICE game.. It is time consuming but well worth the money and the graphics way better on the tv than the computer screen.. LUV IT
An awesome 3D action-platformer, with some really stunning visuals. The art style is tremendous, and the powerups are really cool (like the Shrinking Potion used to explore tiny areas.) A fun run through, and as a bonus, you get the first game as well.
I love love love this game, and actually own it on PS3 as well now.

Even without the DLC it’s amazing, the extra weapons are just the topping on the cake. The game is visually mindblowing, extremely creative and no one place is alike. I could spend time just looking around, not even fighting just to see the detail they put into it. If you’re a fan of the first Alice game then this is right up your ally, friends become enemies and enemies become friends, the ending is perfection, which is rare to see nowadays. I’ve replayed the game several times and found something new damn near every time. The game’s storyline, fighting system, enemies, and little extras make this game a personal favorite of mine. Also the disturbing nature of the storyline makes it perfect for the more mature audience, they’ve taken Alice in Wonderland and turned it even darker and more twisted than the first game which makes it just that much better.

I’ve been waiting for this game to release since I first heard news of it last year and now that I’m playing it, it didn’t disappoint. This is a platforming action game and both aspects are done really well. It’s visually rich with tons of detail and the camera work is done well. The backgrounds vary from vivid and serenely beautiful to dark, gritty and gory. Even the costume changes as you make it to new locations are nice little touches that add to all the attention to detail that was paid to the graphics. Even when you fall and die it looks cool. Standing out are the parts with the motion comic-like cutscenes that are dark and violent. Sort of like reading rainbow on a very bad acid trip.Platforming feels solid. Double jumping not only looks beautiful with a cool graphical flourish but the "float" ability that allows you to glide and string multiple double jumps together is useful and cool to look at. The fighting is also done really well. I like dedicated melee and ranged buttons that allow the combat to flow seamlessly instead of constantly switching weapons back & forth as the situation and enemies demand a major improvement over the first. Theres also a dodge/dash ability that’s both very useful and is awesome to look at. Locking on to enemies to and being able to change to another target during battle is very useful and also an upgrade from the first game.Exploration is rewarded and encouraged which I love. It’s not just a straight road through the game. There.

What a fabulous game! Very intricate art. Challenging in every movement forward. I end up playing old games because they don’t release new ones fast enough. This one was a win! The graphics and movements aren’t antiquated. Each jump is a different sequence that must be mastered.

I LOVE this game! I have yet to find another game like it. It’s a dark twist on Alice as she tries to gain back her memories. She slashes with her vorpal blade and shoots a pepper grinder and eventually gets an umbrella which she uses as a deflector. This is actually the 2nd time I’ve bought it because after I finished it the first time I traded it in for a new game but I just couldn’t get it out of my mind and wanted to play it again. The only game that has come close to this for me is Batman Arkham Asylum.

Overall I loved the game. The distortion of Alice in wonderland looked cool and had that creepy/edgy feel. It had some of the feeling of a tom burton movie. It was rather linear, which made the "insanity" feel to logical. It would have been nice to be tricked down a dead end or forced to make irrational decisions.The auto-target system changes the screen, which makes it hard to see enemies coming from the sides and rear. Moving to other targets or selecting one from a crowd is almost impossible in the heat of the moment.
