10 years ago, Alice Liddell’s house caught fire and her parents and older sister died in the blaze. Badly burned and on the brink of death, Alice fell into a catatonic state, punctuated by moments of screaming madness. She was moved to Rutledge Asylum in London where the doctors tried all kinds of treatments to bring her out of her trance-like state. The methods used in asylums in the 19th century were not based on very sound medical knowledge. For example, Alice was given shock treatments, doses of poisonous substances, and leeches were placed on her. But nothing seemed to work. While Alice appeared to be a soulless vegetable, the real cure for her ailment was inside her own mind. In her mind she could seek solace in Wonderland, the fantastical land she had visited in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll. But as seen in the game Alice, which came out on PC in 2000, and is available for download for free with new copies of Madness Returns, Wonderland wasn’t quite the weird but delightful place it once was. The maniacal Red Queen was waging total war against the inhabitants of Wonderland and it was up to Alice to stop her. The health of Wonderland was symbolic of Alice’s mental health. With the defeat of the Red Queen, Alice was able to win back her sanity as well….or so she thinks. This game isn’t called Madness Returns for nothing, you know.As the game opens, Alice has been released from the asylum and is working and boarding at a.

i bought this as a gift for my fiance, ever since she knew there was an "alice in wonderland" kind of game, with a dark twist, shes been wanting this game.Needless to say, this game has met both of our expectations, not to mention the fact that it takes a childhood classic fairytale and turns it upside down. this is a very gruesome and graphic game, your currency to upgrade weapons….is teeth…my fiance hates anything to deal with teeth but she somehow can deal with this.i for one havent had the chance to play it yet, she wont let me play it til after she beats it. she gets easily bored when playing video games, but as for this game, shes played this for 2+ hours everytime she playes.I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes an RPG/Platformer and has ever dreamed of going through an alice in wonderland darkside.

This is by far my favorite game. I have beaten it several times! There is just so much fun in this game. And it keeps my attention!

I loved the first Alice game, and this one is excellent as well. This is a much more adult themed game, and there are levels that make you a little sick to your stomach because of their themes like Doll World. The story is really good and when you are done playing you think ‘Oh Wow, thats the end already?’ not realizing you just got like 40 hours of play time. It seems much shorter than it really is.My only complaint is the length of the last boss battle, It is way too easy.

I haven’t played the actuall game yet, but went back to download the first American McGee’s Alice (for free) to see how it stacked up to my old PC version. Most impressed. I got further in the first 5 minutes than I ever did on our PC due to ease of play and modern technology, I guess. Will update after we’ve played the actual game.

When I bought this game I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I got it for a great price and it shipped very fast. The graphics on the game are 8/10. The soundtrack is 8/10. The gameplay is 7/10. The storyline is 9/10. Overall a very good game. It’s a good mix of a puzzle game and an action game.
