Concise –
Okay, first things first: THIS GAME WILL NOT BLOW YOU AWAY GRAPHICALLY.Now, if you are someone looking for a competent, strategic, and overall fun simulation of football with some of the games greatest as well as the ability to create your own teams/players, then this game is for you.Presentation: The graphics are outdated but the motion capture and animations are top-notch. You can see receivers drag their toes to stay in bounds as well as running backs lose momentum when making cuts. Madden this is NOT.Gameplay: It will take a while (I didn’t get instructions with my copy) to get used to an ability based attribute system as opposed to just numbers alone. The gameplay is more grounded in reality so when you lose, it’s because you got outplayed, not cheated. I am not much of an online gamer but there still is an online following.Verdict: If you don’t mind creating your own teams, then pick up a copy and see how your team of legends competes wit the best in history. I have played a few games and they have all been close. I’m 0-3 but I’m having fun and that is surprising. I got it for less than 5 dollars so go get yourself a copy.

you see i really dont play football games anymore but I really do like this one but the madden fan boys are going to rip this game a new one instead of giving a honest rating its sad 2 this is a good game so pls rent before listing to these reviews cause it will be madden people who will give 2 stars and never had played it

This is a super fun football game with some great names from the past…It runs smoothly and the graphics are nice too and the price was SUPER…The Madden series are great but this one is alot of fun and its different and the Hall of Famers you can be are great…There really is nothing like football in the good ol’ days…Have fun, I know I am ;o)

…or watching Barry Sanders singlehandedly shred a defense for a 40-yard TD run. I’ve been glued to this game since I brought it home…THE GOOD: the graphics and sound are amazing. Much better than the Madden line of games. The game is supposed to be rendered in 1080p, but comes on in 720p for some reason on my TV. I went into the PS3’s display settings and turned off 720p, and that fixed the issue. Players retain dirt and scuffs on their uniforms, and celebrations after TD’s and sacks are excellent. The game really gets the feel for each individual player. Gone are the ratings based on 0-100 scales. When you choose a player, it tells you exactly what this player does well. You have total control of every single player on the field in pre-snap: hot routes, blocking schemes, formation switches and audibles all before you hike the ball; zone coverage, blitzing, shifting, drop off and pinching on defense…all of this can be tailored for each player one at a time, meaning, for instance, you can blitz your weak side LB (“Will”) by hitting 3 buttons. You really have to learn the button layout, though.The gameplay is fluid and fast, but not too fast. The QB can slide in the pocket, duck under and avoid sacks with the ease of the Left control stick. RB’s and WR’s have a slew of moves. What’s different here? Used to be, players moved on a horizontal axis, making them look and act almost like horses on a merry-go-round, with a pole running up through them. Now, player movement is.

You litterally feel like if you were in the game! Hearing home the crowd go off for every hard hit, every defensive stance, and every touchdown. It is 100% mesmerizing to watch a game, let alone play it, you hear the crowd chant, and the ruckus that is in the crowd is truely amazing. Obviously, 2K Sports have done their homework, and it is surreally done.Plus, it is ALWAYS fun to have a Sweetness-Moose-Rice Combination on your team (Like mine). Good memories.Gameplay: Two Thumbs UpAlthough the physics engine looks GREAT, there are very minute things that would need to be tweaked. Things like when a diving defensive player goes to stop a Runner/Wide Reciever. They dive, but it is like the player bounces off of the player, then fall to the ground.While this is pretty entertaining to watch this, it would still be much more believable if the defensive player looks to at least go for a shoe-string tackle.But other than that, it still is a good physics engine. Plus, you cannot discount the bonus of having to tay.

This has got to be the best American football game there is. The movement of the players is top quality just like the real thing. The presentation has yet to be matched even with the games that are out today. This game came out in 2007 and still rocks. The only thing that lets this game down is no career mode or continued team season mode but it still puts other well known football games to shame. I picked this game up only recently and have realized that this is how pro football really should be played on a console. This is real football.
