This is another of our grand kids favorites. Glad we purchased it.
I wanted to watch this with my 2 grandsons. They are 3 and 6. Not only did they enjoy it so did I. We watched this movie on three different occasions. I remember The Chipmunks from when I was growing up and I’m so glad that I can share it with my best boys.
We bought the whole series for the 3-year-old grandkid, for when she was coming over, just to have something different than what she has at home. We know it was adorable, and of course she watched it several times over the 4 days she stayed with us. From an adult POV, the 3D animation is just amazing. Just like parts 1 & 2.

I feel very sad to see there are some negative feedbacks to this item on our retrolio.com.I’ve finish watching it just now and I have to say the story of this movie is really a little simple.No ups and downs points and no thrilling secse.But you know the movie is for the people in all age.So the producers must square up all the people in defferent age.I know people in our age(I mean the age over 18)may perfer the movie with ups and downs points and thrilling secse like “Mission Impossible” but how about the kids?Can you image a kid in 0-10 yeas watching “Mission Impossible” and say this is great?(Perhaps there will be but I’m sure it’s only a few.)And on the other hand I have to say this movie has an amazing technology and the six chipmunks were created very very cutely.At the same time I think they are much cuter then them in the cartoon.(It’s just my opinion.)Perhaps you guys can image how difficult the producers pruduce the chipmunks’ movie.So I think we should treat the movie in different way and we should give it negative feedback.Don’t you think so?Let’s respect the behind-the-scenes staff together.And by the way I wish…I really wish the forth chipmunks’ movie will come soon!
Have seen this movie a few times as a family. Kids love it! Chipmunk voices get a little annoying to me, but chipmunks are the point of the movie lol. Cute plot.

If your kids — or you — enjoy innocent and very lighthearted fun, you’ll love this movie. My 9-year-old son sure did. The songs range from the pretty-current (ones preteens today would know and love) to previous-generation favorites like the Go-Go’s "Vacation." David Cross is great again as the villain, Ian, and the rest of the cast does very good work as well.This is not art. It’s not a deathless piece of cinema. Compared to "Citizen Kane," it deserves maybe one-and-a-half stars. But it is not trying to be "cinema" — it’s trying to be a zany, ridiculous child-friendly film about talking, singing chipmunks. It succeeds perfectly at that, so I have given it 5 stars for doing just what it set out to do. It’s good clean fun that my boy really enjoyed. He laughed out loud at many points during the film, and because he loved it, I loved watching it with him.. If you are looking for something silly and predictable that contains nothing scary or "inappropriate," this is a very solid choice.

My little grandchildren seem to like everything that has anything to do with Alvin and the chipmunks. If you have grandchildren ages 4 and under, I would recommend giving Alvin a chance to entertain them.
