The game is great, Nintendo really outdid themselves. This is only a 4 because the back of the box is all in Italian. Don’t know how that happened, but just something to be aware of.

This is animal crossing, and everything on the retrolio page made this look like a US-English game. It arrived and the back cover is entirely in Italian, and when I returned to the retrolio page I found if I scrolled down to the product information section it does indeed show Italian. I really wasn’t expecting Nintendo of America to have Italian as a choice and hadn’t even considered looking.It showed up a day early. The card works just fine. The game play is in English. The front-cover is in-distinguishable. The back cover is entirely in Italian.

I don’t know what possessed me to get the original game on the GameCube but I’m glad I did, and so were my sisters. We ended up playing it constantly. Now this game grew in ways that I never imagined, but it feels like the general activities available for you to do is lacking. I’ve played for 60+ and I honestly can’t remember an animal asking me to delivery something. Even redoing catch phases. An animal asked me about a nickname but not a single one has asked me to update their catch phrase. Even fishing tournaments are done quarterly (the original game had a weekly bass fishing tournament if you can believe it and it was awesome). Those were staples of the original game. It’s like they replaced that with the island customization, and the game feels shallower for it. But still, the writing is as great as always. Each animal’s personality is genuinely charming in its own way. I just hope they update it to increase the frequency of certain activities, cause I know some of them are in there. And add bass fishing tournaments. P.S. Shout out to my boy Bob.
