Okay,it isn’t as good as I say it is because the come back to life after you hit them (unlike Twisted Metal Black, although it is fun enough just hitting them,)and you can’t hijack those Greyhounds(like in Driver 2.) The good things: Wrecking the town is SO fun, the racing is pretty fun, and it overall is a good game.

Rockstar is one of the best game developers for the PS2 format. MCSR was one of the first games out for the PS2, and is still a lot of fun. With the prices dropping on the “older” games, they provide a lot of bang for the buck.Once you have finished the missions in the game there are still a lot of fun things to do…secrets, special vehicles, etc. (…)

The Midnihght Club is one of the best racing games I’ve ever played!! I love getting secret cars and it is really easy to win other racers’ cars. All you have to do is beat them and you win the car they are driving. There are also secret cars that you get in Free Ride a.k.a. cruise. I know where one is in New York and two in London but I know there is more. Usually they are on the roof of buildings, some are inside buildings you just have to look carefully. I gave this game 4 stars because it has everything a good car game needs except for a lot of levels(it only has 2) Still it’s worth it

I got this game a few months ago, it’s not bad, just confusing when doing a race because you can go both ways eg left or right and still end up at the end.you race a guy once to enter the club and get his phone number (if u beat him in a race) next time u race him and come first, u win his car, race him again u get his other car. after that u have to find another guy to race and get their cars, then u go to london……..also theirs capture the flag. u have to pick up the flag at a flashing location, shown in yellow on ur map, and deliver it, a flashing green light on ur map, before the other racers…. . ….Overall not a bad game but can be boring after a while (couple of hours)

This game has been the funnest racing game that I have ever played. I skimmed through some reviews & found some people (hardcore gamers) getting technical stating that it is a little unrealistic, graphics could be better….& so on. There are so many elements to this game that just amaze you. First of all, the layout of the cities are so detailed and accurate! I have been to Manhattan many times. While driving through the streets of New York on this game I saw certain landmarks that I recognized right away such as the Guggenheim museum, Central Park, Times Square, the bull statue on Wall St. and other minor landmarks & buildings. The attention to detail in this game is another thing that hooked me…..various talking pedestrians, all types of vehicles (buses, police cars, cabs, ice cream trucks & more), garbage cans, parking meters, fire hydrants & much more. There are several playing modes such as arcade mode, head 2 head racing, waypoint….in which you race against 4-6 racers, touching all of the waypoints to the finish line, capture the flag (my favorite) and finally career mode…in which you gradually upgrade your car by winning the car from the racers that you beat. The capture the flag mode gives this game a lot of replay value even for 1 player. It is basically playing tag while you are driving your vehicle. If you pick up the flag, you have to drop it off at a given point without being bumped by one of the other drivers….or you’ll lose the flag. If you.

I loved Driver and Driver 2 on PS. My favorite way to spend a couple hours gaming was to go for a ride around the featured cities, just exploring. Midnight Club almost brought that experience home to the PS2 for me. Unfortunately, though the graphics are much better than the latter titles, the cities (only two, New York and London) in Midnight Club are too small and don’t have the same atmosphere as those in the Driver games. Regardless, some of the visuals in MC are jaw-droppingly gorgeous, like the rain/wet tarmac effects. wow. Another great thing about MC is that in some small way, it satisfied my hunger for Gran Turismo 3. MC is one of the best first generation PS2 titles.

Midnight Club has good overall game play, but there are some lacking areas. Yes, the graphics are lacking for PS2 technology, but then this was a release title–remember what the PSX release games looked like compared to the more recent titles? It seems that accuracy on the streets was more important to this game developer than the actual graphics themselves. From the times that I have been to London, it seems pretty darn accurate. If you can overlook the fact that there are PS2 games with better graphics, then this game is a must for your driving library. No, it’s not exactly racing like you would find in Ridge Racer V, but it is still a racing style game. There is plenty of game play for drivers of all ages, and drivers of all ranges of skills. What am I somking on of the reviewers wants to know? NOTHING, I just see the game for what it is, and also know what it can be in the future. I am enjoying the games that I have now, and looking forward to a few years from now when I can say "boy–all those PS2 release titles had REALLY REALLY bad graphics—What were we thinking?"Good Game play. Good Extended playability. Good variety for all ages and skill ranges.

Angel Studios, the developers of Midnight Club, also did Smuggler’s Run. Smuggler’s Run, thanks to early in-store exposure, seems to be the more popular title currently, despite being a bit repetitive and not quite as deep or original as Midnight Club. There are many modes of play in Midnight Club, the bulk of which is the Career Mode. You start out with the bottom-of-the-heap Taxi, and use it to roam the city looking for "hookmen." Once you find one, he will acknowledge you, and then you must tail him as he speeds around the city. If you successfully keep up with him, then you will enter into a race (that takes place at midnight, thus the title) against that hookman and any number of his "homeys." The objective of this race is to hit various checkpoints in order, and then reach the finishing point first. If you are successful, the hookman will reward you with his cellphone. When you get a hookman’s cellphone, you can then call him, challenge him to a one-on-one race (no marauding "homeys" to help him out this time) which, if you win, you get to use his car. Each "hookman" has a different type of vehicle (sport truck, Latino low-rider, Honda Civic, etc) and each has strengths and weaknesses. The taxi is very maneuverable, but slower than molasses, therefore you will want to challenge immediately in order to gain access to better cars. There also a Cruise Mode, where you simply take a car and drive around the city, no purpose or o.
