After buying and playing Sonic Colors, I was kind of underwhelmed with that game, and so I bought Sonic Generations and hoped that it would be better than its predecessor. Well it was better in my opinion than the "fluffy" Colors game, but still I was not as happy as some other Sonic games such as Sonic ’06 , Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic and the Secret Rings. The game play was decent, but the story was severely lacking. The music was bad but that is to be expected on a Sonic game. The graphics are good but the environment is always the same green hilly areas almost every level. The game is very short and it is almost a little too hokey and sickening the way characters dance after you rescue them. I still recommend this game but if you are like me and enjoy the Sonic games I mentioned above–you’ll probably feel the same that I do–it was Sonic but left me still wanting more. It’s been years since I have played this game and I have forgotten how amazing it is. Such nostalgia lmao and also love how quickly this shipped to me. 10/10 Rolling around at the speed of sound

I’ve been a huge fan of Sonic ever since I first played the original games on the Sega Genesis. So when I heard about Sega bringing back side-scrolling Sonic along with some classic levels I with very excited. You’ll be glad to know Sonic generations doesn’t disappoint.Gameplay:Sega did a fabulous job at with designing the levels in this game. You can speed right through most of them if you want but if you go too fast you’ll miss jumps and alternate routes that may get you special items of even get you to the finish line even faster. There is a great balance in the game of speed and a skillful timing. You can even use points you earn in between levels to buy power-ups, from shields to extra rings, to give you a little extra edge in beating different stages.Content:I was worried at first that this was going to be a short game because of how fast sonic can plow through levels but wow did they pack this game with a lot of content. You have nine normal levels, all inspired by classic stages, which you play through as both 2D and 3D Sonic. Then each of those Stages has 5 red rings to find and 5 bonus mini-games to play for each sonic. Finally, you have some rival characters to compete with for chaos emeralds and a couple of bosses to take down.Story:At last we have the story. I think Sega did a fabulous job keeping the short and simple. Its quite an amusing tale of sonic trying to rescue all his buddies from this mysterious dark time traveling foe.In the end, I can hones.

Got this for my 5 year old, as he’s now in the age where he loves everything Sonic. I have the PC version, but thought he would have more fun playing on a console (and easier for him to get the game going on his own). We have a lot of fun playing together.

I love how it combines old school and the new school sonic. I play the old version and my son plays the new version. That helps since it is only one player.

Bought this for my daughters birthday. She is 8 and she loves it ! Great family game also’

Got it when promised. The game was a gift to a grandson, he loved it

My four-year old girl has recently been enjoying video games. Her entrance into gaming was Epic Mickey 2, but that became too simple for her. I then introduced her to Sonic Unleashed which was a bit more difficult – probably too difficult. Now came Sonic Generations which is a perfect mix of 3D and platform mobility. She’s thoroughly enjoying it and in those areas that are a bit too difficult for her, I’m enjoying it as well!Highly recommend.

But this for my eight-year-old son, my five-year-old daughter and I play it instead. I bought it thinking it would be like the old, much higher quality than the old and moves a lot faster. If you’re expecting it to be slow like the old Sonic games for Sega Genesis you will be in quite a shock

  10. Tyrone

It is fun to play some of the old levels from the Genesis. The more modern levels are a bit crazy, but still enjoyable. There are lots of collectibles and replay value in this game. It’s only down fall are some of the bosses, especially the final boss. The mechanics of those battles are badly executed. Overall, a cute fun game for Sonic fans
