Berserk is a port of the arcade game. Your character navigates mazes and shoots enemy robots, while running from a psychotic smiley face.Controls are simple and easy. Note that holding down the fire button while moving the joystick aims your shots and will fire when you release the button.Enemy robots start out passive, but get more aggressive over time. You can shoot them or avoid them, but be careful as they can shoot as well. The walls are also lethal to touch, both for you and the robots (leading to humorous occasions when a robot suicides trying to reach you). Each room is called a “maze”, however they are more like a couple extra walls in a room. Exiting a maze enters a new one from that direction. If you take too much time in a maze, the bouncing smiley face called Evil Otto appears to chase you out.Difficulty is fully adjustable. You can disable Evil Otto or make him vulnerable, and even disarm the robots for a really easy game. Games 3, 6, and 9 offer the real challenge with all gameplay elements in effect (with different point values for extra lives). Game 12 is the easiest, with non-shooting robots and no Otto.Berserk is a classic game. It is very simple compared to newer overhead arcade games, however it’s still worth playing.

I had never played or even heard of this game before I bought it and I absolutely love it. The only problem I find is that it doesn’t have a two player mode.

Berzerk…the name says it all. A stellar arcade game during the 80’s, it translated well to the Atari 2600 game console. Although the electronic voice is NOT in the 2600 version, all the other gameplay elements are there. It starts out easy with robots that don’t shoot at you, but picks up from there with the very next maze. Over time, the robots will increase their shooting speed and walking speed. And Otto? When he appears, RUN! This game is excellent, and the graphics are top-notch for the time it was produced.Adjustable difficulty means you can ramp it up, or make it so Otto never appears. Many choices for you as the player to customize your Berzerk experience. I highly recommend this for any Atari 2600 collector who is looking for a good game to add to their library. As I’ve said in other 2600 reviews, make sure to buy a loose copy for play, and then try to get a complete in-box copy with the instructions. This game even came with a comic book, if you can find it.Look on Youtube for the commercial with the Grandma playing Berzerk. Too funny!

Destroy the androids before they can get you! If you dont “otto” will take you out. RUUUUUN but stay away from the walls… they will kill you. This is a true atari classic and is recommended to any gamer. Light hearted, challenging, and above all else, entertaining. Berzerk will keep you busy for a long while dodging bullets, enemies, and the evil otto to try and get a top score.

the cartridge is in so good condition that it plays smoother and with less fuzz than my other atari games. the cartridge has minor label wear from use (only visible when closely looked at). the inside of the cartridge was dirty, but a few Q-tips did the job. 10/10 would recommend and buy again.
