Being an avid gamer of zombie themed games, I recognized a need to switch gears. Don’t get me wrong. I still love to take well aimed headshots in Resident Evil 4 or 5, or sink an axe/bat/crowbar in Left for Dead. The robots are truly resilient against bullets, and you’d have to take off the head’s armor before popping the robot’s head off. But that challenge is welcomed in a cover-n-shoot game. You fight while controlling a squad, and you can build relationships with them. Thankful your allies’ AI is competent enough to seldom die on hard level. The biggest beef I have in the game is voice recognition. I purchased a EU version of the game, and I have to speak in either a German or South African accent for voice recognition to successfully pick up my commands. Using a mic, my commands are reduced to “cover me”, “go”, “shoot”, and “regroup”. Forget “hell yeah”, “absolutely”, “affirmative”, and possible phrases. I’m reduced to “yeah” and “no”. It won’t even pick up “yes” consistently. With voice recognition on, the mic might pick up phrases accidentally with background noise. In the end, I played the game without voice recognition.Overall, I still really enjoyed the tame. You can’t go wrong with Binary Domain.

Solid third person shooter, quite a bit of action not the greatest game in the world but it’s pretty good.

I was very hesitant at first when I saw this game come up on Playstation Plus as a free game. After I finished downloading it, I gave it a fair run-through… After a few frustrating hours I finally beat the storyline. The game itself has a very interesting storyline, although some of the characters are a little cliche and over-the-top. Oddly enough, the combat is pretty fluid and straight-forward. The storyline actually sucks you in for the simple joy of seeing how it all ends.I would highly recommend this game to anyone who is thinking of purchasing it.

Binary Domain certainly has its faults (the dreadful cover art is definitely one of them), but it feels more original than many games I’ve played. I’m honestly not a huge Third Person Shooter fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed Binary Domain. With many TPS the controls feel clunky, but Binary Domain’s controls feel quick, fluid, and natural. The gameplay is rock solid. The sound of metal on metal as your rounds splinter off android armor is satisfying. Annoyed that some video games take half a dozen shots to take down a human enemy? Well in this game every bullet counts as you’ll peel off enemy android armor depending on where you place your shots. You also get more money for head shots, type of enemy, etc. in which you can use to buy upgrades. The battling never gets old. There are plenty of boss battles, quicktime events, etc. that keep the game varied.A thrilling story that initially seems bland like most games, but as it progresses it propels into one that Sci-Fi greats like Isaac Asimov would appreciate. The setting/environments are definitely above average. The entire atmosphere of the game is one that adds to its quality. One thing this game does exceptionally well is the banter between the squad mates during gameplay. They are continuously chatting making it actually feel like you are in a squad instead of playing a videogame with AI teammates. There are a few issues. One is the commands. Some responses just simply don’t make sense. Additionally, some of the lines your squad.

Amazing game but i am thoroughly disappointed with the condition i got the game in. It was advertised and purchased as brand new and came in sealed in one of those flimsy wraps. The paper sleeve had crease marks in the front and back, along the lines of the plastic case cavity, and to make matters worse, there was water damage to the top portion as well. The disc itself was in good condition and on further examination, it seemed like it hasn’t been used. Will have to rebuy the game as this kind of thing is bothersome to me.
