This is one of those games practically guaranteed to become a cult classic. It’s not getting the same kind of aggressive ad campaign as the Mass Effects and CODs, and other derivative sequels to manufactured mega-franchises, of the world, but that does not speak for lack of quality. Hopefully, this will find it’s audience and sell enough over a long period of time like fellow Sega under-the-radar hits such as Valkyria Chronicles and Bayonetta. The story of Binary Domain concerns a “Rust Squad”, or an international group of ex-soldiers who destroy robots. A bunch of sentient androids called “Hollow Children” have infiltrated human society all over the world, and a Japanese scientist is to blame. So off they go to Japan to deal with the problem. What follows is a tad slow to start (seriously, the first 15 minutes are a bore), but quickly builds into something pretty special. Even though it has Virtua Cop-esque, “inspired by 80’s action movie bravado” dialogue at the start, it’s impressive how quickly Amusement Vision actually starts writing natural dialogue and crafting a compelling narrative. It never gets up to Blade Runner or Ghost in the Shell-level stuff, but it’s quite good. Especially for the Yakuza developer.Speaking of which, the gameplay and visuals are also an impressive step up from that series. The campaign never lets up; it’s stuffed with a large variety of set pieces, story beats, boss battles and other encounters. Unlike the odd Yakuza Dead Souls, this is a very.

One of my favorite PS3 games. It has a great story that you care about. And shooting the robots is really fun every time all the way to the end. The graphics are so well done — it’s like a great action movie. They made all these spots on the robots have individual pieces of armor that you have to shoot off to get to their body. You can shoot off their legs, and then they can only crawl. This game goes into my top 10 all time games on the ps3 for sure, right up there with Shadow of the Colossus, Dead Space series, and Sly Cooper, etc… be sure to get this one!

Binary Domain is a great third person shooter game and the story is really good. Graphics are good too and the multi play is good but I’ve only seen maybe less than 30 people online. Wish there was more players on Binary Domain. Binary Domain reminds me of the anime Ghost In The Shell. The voice actors are good. Laura Bailey and Travis Willingham are well known voice actors. Overall, Binary Domain is a must buy or a must try and I would give the game an 8/10

Loved this game. Great great storyline. I didn’t know if I would like this game at first but I enjoyed it very much.

(This review is for campaign only, no multiplayer.) This game is good, make no doubt about it… but it’s not great. The problem is, having just played “Gears of War 3” and “Uncharted 3” in the last few months, the shortcomings of “Binary Domain” become clear. Ultimately, this title cannot quite keep pace with the darlings of the stop-and-pop action genre. At least not in terms of graphics, sound, pacing, and storytelling. However…What this game DOES do well is enable you to let off some steam by annihilating hordes of robots with an array of weapons, for which the ammunition is never lacking. It reminds me a lot of the good, old fashioned FUN that was packed into many Sega titles during the Dreamcast era, such as “Zombie Revenge”. Sure, it’s cheesy, and the dialogue between you and your squadmates is absurd, but it works quite well for those of us with a soft spot for Sega. Also noteworthy are the robots themselves… this is the type of seriously awesome robot design that Japanese artists seem to always excel at. The only games I’ve played with more robotic variety and slickness are “Vanquish” and the “Ratchet and Clank” series. When an injured robot ground troop was crawling toward me – utterly relentless, despite the devastation I’d wrought upon it with a dozen-plus rounds from my assault rifle – I could not help but be reminded of Arnold’s Terminator, dragging itself toward the fleeing Sarah Connor. It sent a chill down my spine more than once :) “Binary Domain” is fun.
