I got this as a gift for my girlfriend who showed interest in the BlazBlue series from day 1 when she beat me 5 out of 8, yet was unfortunate to have any system to play it on. Then after some poking around, I found this, a BlazBlue game for 3DS, the only system she had. When I gave it to her on Christmas, she almost passed out in excitement. For a while, that’s all she would talk about. I took a look at it myself, and seeing BlazBlue in 3D was absolutely awesome. I wish I could give this game 14 stars as a rating for the game itself, and the priceless reaction she had.
I’ve put 150 hours into this game over the course of the last 3 years. It was my first BlazBlue game, one that spawned a passionate heat for the franchise for me. I had no experience with other titles until I picked this one up, but it quickly became the favorite of my 3DS repertoire.Needless to say, if you can master inputs on the squant D-pad of a 3DS, if you find yourself holding an analog stick on a console port, you’ll be at incredible advantage. My thumb was raw each time I played, and I tore off the directional decal off the first 3DS I had from the use of Hakumen’s magatama.Though it’s true there are some framerate issues in VERY SPECIFIC parts of the game, namely with characters like Mu-12 or Rachel who generate a lot of standing objects outside of the characters, it never impacted my experience to a notable degree. The simple fact remains that having BlazBlue at your fingertips ensures you’ll never go rusty. Combos are in my muscle memory now, and I have this game to thank for that. I was even able to place a respectable rank at a local tournament because of my experience with this game.Though copies are hard to come by nowadays, don’t second-guess yourself if you have an interest in the series. Pick it up.
BlazBlue Continuum Shift II is a solid fighting game, but it lacks in the refine touch that is Street Fighter series has.
Blazblue Continuum Shift II was a good game. The music was great, the visuals were nice, and it had quite a few strong fighters. It’s downsides? Well, for one thing, the animations for the characters’ Astral Heats weren’t what I thought they’d be. The input for some characters’ Astral Heats are very hard to do. such Astral Heat input is the input for Bang Shishigami’s The Ultimate Bang. For some reason, every time I try that I end up making him do Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan. There are some Astral Heats whose inputs are easy, but the move itself is hard to execute.I’m still not sure how to get Arakune’s N to Infinity started after doing the input. Another downside to this game is this character that I don’t think deserves all the attention he gets. That character would be Hazama. He’s very hard to use,he’s very difficult as a normal final boss, and after the Black Beast was defeated, he betrayed the Six Heroes. Let’s see,any other downsides…? Nope. I got nothing else bad to say about Blazblue Continuum Shift II. Let’s start saying some more good things about this game. I actually have three favorite characters in this game. Their names are Lambda-11,who turns into Nu-13 when you put her in Unlimited Mode, Tsubaki Yayoi, and Platinum the Trinity. All three of these characters can perform some great combos and have some good special attacks. Let’s go about this in order starting with Lambda. Lambda can summon swords from different dimensions and attack the opponent using them. This allows Lamb.
The game is awesome but the D pad makes a little hard to move around. why 4 stars because the game is amazing, the music is wonderful, the characters are great and the story is good. My 2nd favorite fighting game after guilty gear. If you like fighting games or 2d fighting games or if you like guilty gear, persona 4 area, or king of fighters get this game. However if you have big hands I would get it on the console. My hands are medium so I can beat the game
Honestly, happy out of my mind when i recieved this, it is one of my favorite games of all time, it came used but it was in crisp condition, couldnt be any happier
The psvita one looks more accurate than this version. It is alot more simplistic in graphics for the 3ds graphics engine but the story mode with the 3d on looks absolutely amazing the way the characters pop out as a storybook would. For overall gameplay its not as fun because blazblue is known for its sleek cut smooth sprites and this just doesn’t cut it. Out of all 3ds game you might want to have it in your collection still.
Great game, very similar to the latest gen version. So great to play on the go. Unfortunately you can’t use the circle pad to move, so I needed to get used to d pads!
At first, I thought the story and graphics would make my eyes barf. Later, I found out that most of the stories and gameplay are rather interesting. Most of the fights are too easy, too hard, or plain right depending on who you fight. There are certain extras too, so it’s worth the money(mostly). During each character’s story, be careful on what decision you make or you will start the story over, but you can skip the text youv’e already seen. You also must practace certain moves and strategies. This is just advice on those who are wondering. Enjoy :)
BlazBlue Continuum Shift I and II are both great, but II is very fun. Story, characters, and battles modes are all amazing. Great 3DS game!
