Purchased as gift but came exactly as expected for a better price than in store.

Blood bowl has been around for awhile. The rules themselves have been through multiple versions and so have the box releases. This one by far is the best release and presentation of blood bowl. For anyone who hasn’t played Blood bowl this is a strategy game. Like most sports, you get two halves in which to score points and win. Each team gets 8 turns per half. Once you learn it, the game can be played in about two hours. The game can be very chaotic due to the dice, and there is a risk/reward strategy because a lot of actions are done during your turn. With many of these actions, if you mess up it can result in a turnover and your turn is done. That means if your first roll goes south there is a possibility that your turn can end on your first action. The two teams presented are pretty equal. The humans have more passing ability and the orcs can just bulldoze through everything. There’s also nothing stopping you from playing the orcs as humans or humans as orcs. The humans have 2 catchers, and the orcs have 2 blockers. Those models can easily sub for one another for human vs human or orc vs orc. So there’s a few ways to get some extra play out of it.This box stands alone very well with no additions whatsoever. You can get a lot of enjoyment without buying anything else. If you can find enough people though Blood Bowl really shines in league play. Leagues add an RPG element and your team changes over time. Players grow in strength, get injured/killed, you can p.

Fun game, you can even play with people that don’t play warhammer games much. Takes a bit to learn but overall pretty easy. Very durable models.

Blood bowl is a take on the Warhammer tabletop game where, instead of fighting wars, the fantasy races (orcs, dwarves, humans, etc.) settle their battles on the football field. If that sounds ridiculous, it is! The games lore and characters are wonderfully absurd, giving the game an appealing sense of humor. This box set provides you with everything you’ll need to play for standard matches with humans and orcs, and there are some extra teams available (dwarves and skaven at the moment). If you can find a group interested in the game you can do ‘league play’ where your players will gain levels, learn additional abilities, or even get killed! If you’re new to it (like I was) I’d recommend checking out the rules before you buy. I’ve heard it’s not as "complicated" as other tabletop games, but it’s still a lot to take in for the uninitiated.

such a great game… it has issues but ive had it less than a month and played it more than ive played 40k

A perfect throwback game for games workshop. The miniatures look amazing high quality pitch (game board). Very easy to read rule book and quality player card. This is a box that can stand alone or you can chose to add more teams. I would recommend for anyone who wants a fun game to play with friends and family or just wants to get into table top gaming

    Just as promised

Blood Bowl 2016 is my first Blood Bowl game. I’ve been a long time fan of another Games Workshop game, Space Hulk, but I’m not a Warhammer or 40k player. So my interest in trying Blood Bowl came from how much I love Space Hulk and it’s components, and from my love for football.First of all, the Blood Bowl components are really, really nice. Everything in the box, from the miniatures, to the game board (the "pitch"), to the rule book are excellent quality. You’ll need to spend a good bit of time cutting the miniatures off the sprues and putting them together, but unless you don’t like putting models together, that’s part of the fun.As far as the game itself, it really is a lot of fun. It obviously doesn’t exactly follow football rules, but it’s very much based on the format of a football game. There are a lot of dice rolls for Blood Bowl, but there is enough opportunity for strategy that a good player can somewhat mitigate some of the unlucky rolls that are bound to happen. The random nature of dice rolling mixed with strategy elements makes for a really exciting game, and can lead to some pretty epic moments.Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase, very excited to keep playing this game, and this just might be one of my new favorites along side Space Hulk.

Great starter game models are easy to put together but some will require glue buying more teams can be expensive as you have to buy teams and cards separately.
