One can read this two ways i.e., we are naturally good so praise God our Creator or same assumption and ourcurrent human condition is because either we misused our benevolent nature for evil whose origins areapparently from outside human kind such as the assumption of an Evil Entity beyond free will.

    Great read

Still working my way through, but it’s good to see Prof. Christakis has not let his own experiences with Yale’s student Red Guard dampen his overall optimism for the species.Well written, and accessible to lay readers.

  4. AKS

This is a must read for every person on the planet. It is such a refreshing perspective on where humanity is headed and why. This is not just an optimist’s view. Christakis backs up his theory with facts backed in science, philosophy, sociology, genetics, economics, etc. it is more than just food for thought it is food for the heart, soul, and mind of mankind. If we are to believe him, there is hope for humanity after all. Given the craziness that is out there in the world today, we need this, we need this type of hope, just as much as we need more compassion. We need humanity being and acting humane. A Good Society is not just a concept if what Christakis lays out is truly the path we are on, it is ordained and has been where we have been headed all along. This is a book that I will read again and again. I bought the hardbound copy as well as the ebook and the audible version. It is meant to be studied, scrutinized and discussed.

  5. Social Science Reader

There are thousands of academic writings that address the question, “Are humans fundamentally good?” Scholars will likely never reach consensus on an answer, just as the general population will likely never reach consensus on an answer. But Nicholas Christakis makes a scientifically-supported, passionate argument that we are wired to be decent, to work together, to not hate each other. And, to the extent that that belief can become a self fulfilling prophecy, I’m inclined to join him in it. This is a smart, timely book written by a scholar who has demonstrated that HE is a truly decent human. It is, in my opinion, his masterpiece.

  6. PaulM

The book is based upon an interesting premise and well written. not sure of the reality of the thinking, but interesting read.

  7. bradley

Great book- humans are wired for good. Pass it on!

  8. Ed Robertson

    Exhaustive research; relevant.

  9. Johnny B

Decided to check it out after his appearance on Joe Rogan. Holy smokes, this is some mind stimulating content. Very good, read.

  10. RoL

Working in HR I found this book quite fascinating in its comparisons to the animal kingdom and findings relating to a blueprint for society. I like a bit of data, so seeing some of the research gives much food for thought.
