If you are still playing your Ps2 and collecting Ps2 games this is a must have game to add your collection. I can’t believe it wasn’t part of my collection years ago. This is one of the most awesome games I ever played on the ps2, and I got over 170+ games and a lot of them are pretty awesome too. I just got the game today and couldn’t get away from it for almost 4 hours, it’s that fun. It reminds me of Need for Speed and Carmageddon (without the gore and pedestrians). I can’t believe how old this game is and some of the graphics seemed to push the limits of the Ps2. The explosions and flying parts etc… are just awesome to look at. Now I know car games on today’s newer systems looks very real and no this isn’t graphically up to par with those. But something about the graphics on this game just scream awesome, I think everything about this game screams awesomeness. The makers of this game showed they really loved what they were doing, and really cared about making this game fun. There is hours and hours of fun to be had here. I bought this games used in like new condition for an awesome retrolio deal. Hurry and get this game before it’s gone you will be glad you did.

This game is amazing. Just plug in two controllers and go away in any mode of playing. This game has fantastic crashes, and effects. Just buy it. I’m sure after looking at these other reviews, you will LOVE it if you enjoy smashing cars ( fake ones or real ;) ) and/or racing games. I am a hardcore gamer, and this is in my top 5 for all time favorite racing games. ( Probably number 2. ) There is only one flaw though.. I don’t know why this is, but on two player, there are very few levels.. and when you hit random, you WILL get the same track every time.

I have a Logitech Driving Force Pro wheel for my PS2. There are only certain driving games that will play with it. A list can be found online. Anyway, I have Need for Speed Most Wanted, Need for Speed Underground 2, Grand Turismo 3, Grand Turismo 4, Mustang, Corvette, Midnight Club II, and Simpson’s Road Rage that all work with the wheel (which is AWESOME by the way–force feedback, hooks to the PC too).Burnout 3 Takedown blows each and every one of those games out of the water. I find that I have trouble putting this game down. The races are so intense and fun that I can’t wait for the next one. The steering is not overly sensitive, the car you drive is tough and doesn’t crumble, and you get bonus turbo power for crashing opponents and driving dangerously, on the wrong side of the road for example. You get great awards for good performances, and it opens up a lot of cars quickly. The cars are super fast and there’s a monster turbo boost to boot. I feel like I have to hang on for dear life during this game. Thumbs way up!

I have been waiting for this game since I finished Burnout 2 several months ago. It is just awesome. The graphics are great. About on par with Gran Turismo 3. The best part about the game, though, are the crashes and the takedowms (hence “Burnout 3: Takedown”). Run your opponent into other cars or walls, and they get taken down. The game is fast! Faster than any other racer I have personally seen. Now for the bad. I find too many times takedowns aren’t happening when I believe they should have. Plus, there are too many crash games in B3. I loved the crash games from B2 and wished there were some more, but this is just ridiculous. I am so far in the game, and have been doing nothing but crashes for a few days now. I would prefer to race. Heck, since this is “Takedown,” I would even do the Road Rages (where your objective is to takedown opponents in the time given without wrecking your own car). The load times are longer than the previous two games, thus the races and road rages are more rewarding than the crash games.

This game is so much fun… I started with Burnout 2 on the Gamecube and this one is different, but awesome… fun to play, challenging is overall a great game… if you like car or racing games this series is excellent!! Gamecube plays so much better, but newer ones not available on GC.

It was in quite good condition, case was a tiny bit dirty on the outside, but the disc is great and the case was easily cleaned, all for a great price. The game itself is one of my favorites on the ps2 and in general!

    Good game. Great copy.

  9. N. P. Stathoulopoulos

EA takes over the Burnout series and does exactly what you want: make the game faster, longer, more fun, and more violent. Unfortunately, EA also insists on playing a song at EVERY menu in the game, just like they did with all of their sports games, bringing corporate synergy to a new level. You’ll hear one bland rock band after another–it could all be the same band. Awful. The game? The game is excellent. The same buttons, the same concepts, and then some. The game is much, much faster, insanely so. The crashes feature more parts flying, more paint flying, tires, ripping metal, etc, etc. And the more cars you wreck, you get a chance to blow up your own car and cause even more destruction. Nice. They also value ‘takedowns’, meaning just taking out other racers (running them off the road, ramming them, causing more wrecks, etc.)Basically, if you liked the Burnout games, this is a no brainer. Same deal, only more insane. Again, the only thing missing is the bodies flying through the windshields at 200 mph.

I was surprised to hear burnout 3 sold more copies than gran turismo 4 overall. I mean burnout 3 is alot more fun, but gran turismo is better overall but who gives a crap. Burnout 3 is a offroad fury of fun. The Burnout World tour features up to 40 Race tracks and 67 unlockable Vehicles and a crapload of gamemodes. With online play, no wonder it killed in the rankings. There new mode is called takedown. You try to takedown your oppenent racer by hitting him/her off a road and making him crash. The cars are carfully designed and each one can be used to help you in your inmassed world tour. And intentionally crashing into people never gets old. Its not far from perfect, but it is still a great game. I give it a solid 4 stars.Positive side+ large varity+ Great graphics+ online play+ running into people never gets oldNegitive Side- Clumsy driving Controls- Long loads
