Great shooter that stands the test of time. I still recommend picking this one up.

As many of the past reviews has stated, the single player campaign is somewhat of a mixed bag compared to it’s predecessor, Call of Duty 2. However, if you are mainly interested in this game for it’s multiplayer features, you will find Call of Duty 3 a very worthy purchase.I’ve played through the single player campaign and spent quite a few hours playing the multiplayer. I did have more fun with COD2’s single player, but COD3 single player was still a blast. You still get that non stop action, with tons of soldiers around you that give you the feeling you are just another soldier among many, and not Rambo whos going to kill everyone yourself, but still makes you feel that you are making a big difference in the struggle.I did wish there were a couple more scenarios where you operate the tanks. There are quite a few scenarios where you drive a jeep. They are pretty ho hum. Feels like the jeep is on rails. I think COD2 had a better balance and quality of vehicle missions. Now for many FPS shooter fans, the single player is just an introduction to the main attraction, the multiplayer. And this is worth the price of admission. I’ve been playing online shooters for over a decade now, and COD3 online has been one of the most fun. With 24 people in a game, it really does feel like a war, not just 2 squads going against each other. The classes seem pretty balanced and each offer their own unique gameplay. It’s rewarding to revive fallen players and have them thank you. It feels good to.

If you liked COD2 you’ll like this one as well, although the battles are much less well known and monumental. The graphics are truly next generation, I wish this was available on PC as that is what version I had of COD2, better controls and patches being the main reasons.Yes this is buggy and they needed to do a better job on QC, sometimes while playing I can’t back up or go forward because my guys are in the way, it’s also frustrating to get stuck in environmental objects, another is that your team doesn’t follow you on a consistent basis, making it your responsibility to take out LOTS of enemies before you get any support.Another obnoxious point is that you have to watch all of the cut scenes even if you passed that point and there is no way to skip them, the story/meetings are boring after once through.Overall though this is a great game that was overshadowed by Gears of War(way too short single-player, rental only). I think it’s time to go to the Pacific theater for this franchise in general though.

I bought the game for my husband, but he’s addicted to it, and is impressed by the graphics and so am I.

  5. EricConsidine

  6. Bradford C. Manalakos

  8. Alejandro Farias

I played all the 3 versions on this game! they are all awesome, but this one kept me busy for a while!

  9. Peter Kiss

I love this game so much! The addition of vehicles is really awesome!

  10. Night Lord 40K

Like the title says , this game began my multiplayer addiction that continues to plauge me today. Don’t get me wrong , I really , really like a good campaign , but sitting down and joining a multiplayer match with your friends around the world is just awesome.I played the game before this ( Call of Duty 2 ) , and enjoyed the time I had with it’s multiplayer , but never got into it like I and my friends did with COD 3. The maps were great and well designed , vehicles in every map and game mode and this was the first time you could go prone in a COD match. I know that being able to go into the prone position while playing doesn’t seem like a big deal to some people , but I’m telling you now that it makes a HUGE difference to many. Our favorite game modes were team deathmatch and search and destroy. I just couldn’t get enough of this game and really didn’t play anything else the whole year untill COD 4 was released. This was just simply multiplayer greatness. The campaign was good as well and if I wasn’t playing multiplayer with my friends I was playing the campaign over and over again. The campaign is just as good in this game as it was in COD 2 , and pretty much kept inline with historical facts. Of course over the years the games have evolved and are now completely fiction , as in completely made up and has nothing to do with anything remotely historical. That doesn’t hurt the newer games and provides a different type of story and gameplay. But in every iteration there is a fe.
