Even though I had the original console the original version of this game appeared one, I never could find it. When I first saw “Dracula X” for the SNES I thought THAT was it, it wasn’t. Finally we have the real thing, and re-mastered. The “2.5 Dimension” thing isn’t bad at all, the choice between English and Jap audio should make everybody happy, the difficulty has probably been upped a bit, especially the final battle with Dracula, but it isn’t impossible. Even the average guy with not a lot of time to play or get to an “expert” level like myself can beat the game. The inclusion of a re-dubbed Castlevania Symphony of the Night is good, it also features some of the bonus scenes, weapons, items, and area’s that were in the Sega Saturn Japanese version of “Symphony of the Night” There’s lots of hidden bonuses in the game to keep the perfectionist happy; while the rest of us who just want a fun challenging Castlevania game have just that.

Yeah it’s kind of a pain that you have to unlock Symphony and Rondo instead of having them right there ready to play, but hey! You can’t beat 3 Castlevania games!

I’ve always been a fan of the Castlevania games, and these games are no different. The only thing I can think of that I would’ve done differently is to put both of The Dracula X Chronicles games on the disc to be chosen between from the very beginning, and not after you complete certain criteria with Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. And although Rondo of Blood is a good game and all, the whole reason I bought these games was for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I’m hoping I’ll unlock it some day, but it’s gonna be a pain in the butt until I make it.

This game is super fun, containing all 2.5D remake and a port for all the OG games is just like a dream packaged all-in-one. Highly recommended game.
