It was a very fun game. A little to easy compared to the older Castlevania games. Nonetheless still worth the money. Had a great time with the game highly recommend it.

Enjoyed this game thoroughly – it was a nice mix of the old exploration "Metroidvania" style and the new "God of War" style combat in 2.5D. The 3D was used beautifully, and the music and graphics were excellent given the capabilities of the 3DS. The story was also compelling and much more reflective of the original Castlevania storyline when compared with the original Lords of Shadow. Downsides were that the major plot "twist" is telegraphed way too early, making it lose much of the intended impact. Also, the game is a bit linear, and it is fairly easy to get 100% of all items/scrolls/etc on the first playthrough. But I could not put it down, which is the only other downside – at about 6 – 8 hours, the game is bit on the short side. Still, definitely recommended.

I bought this game for my husband, he loves it. Anything that has to do with games or consoles, he loves.

I’m not sure why this got such bad reviews, it plays well, is a solid side scroller, and has great graphics. It’s also a ton better then the Order of Ecclacia. Feels much more like the previous titles to me.

Excellent

This game very nicely done and fun to play. It had the classic Castlevania feel to it but with new things that were added like the 3d graphics and finishing moves to kill enemies and with more cut scenes you see as you play. The difficulty was just right for anyone to play with you’ll have a good time playing this game with the classic castlevania side scrolling gameplay and action packed battles and storyline. Its a good game for a 3ds owner to own in their collection.

The game is fun, but it lacks a little bit of Castlevania characte. I am having fun adventuring through it, but it just doesn’t feel like it has a real identity. It is a lot of jumping and platforming, and a lot of whipping (A lot more detail into the combat combos for sure) but it just feels like a normal adventure game.
