Picked this up for a lark, actually turned out much better than I imagined. Still prefer the Metroidvanias, but not a bad entry. Game was perfect and shipped quickly. A great transaction.
Dave Halls –
Great game if you’re a fan of the old school side scrolling Castlevania games. One of my favorites for the 3ds
Poes –
A great game combine with wonderful music comes a total masterpiece. A must have for every Castlevania fan and everybody else.

THis game is different from previous 2d Castlevanias, but I like it, it is original and has the elements of Lords of Shadows which I liked from the ps3 game. It is darker, with more serious ambient. I will not compare it with SOTN. I really like this game as it is, the music is great (Orchestra), could have had a little more variety but all in all great sound and the 3d graphics looks nice. I recommend it if you are a Castlevania fan.
pedro –
Very nice how they menaged to bring back the feeling of the older Castlevania games to a whole new way of playing.

Let me preface this review by saying that Symphony of the Night is one of my all-time favorite games. One of the complaints about Mirror of Fate is that it departs from the SotN (and subsequent DS titles) formula. As much as I love the depth of that style, I have to say that I also thoroughly enjoyed the faster-paced/cinematic tone of MoF.The leveling system is pretty superficial (no increase in HP or other stats), but that didn’t bother me. The attacks you unlock make the combat system more interesting.Once you achieve an objective in MoF, it updates the map to show you where to go next. It literally shows you which door you need to go through in each section to get to the next objective. For fans of exploration, this will seem like a cop-out. But there are quite a few secrets, and areas that you can return to once you get a certain upgrade, so the game doesn’t feel completely on rails.MoF uses a pretty active autosave feature. Meaning: if you die, you don’t have a bunch of rework. It will even bring you back in the middle of a boss fight. This obviously makes the game much easier, but for some of the later boss fights, it is actually kind of challenging even reaching the mid-battle autosave points. But again, I can see how this might frustrate some gamers. They could’ve let you turn off autosaving (at least reduce the frequency and turn it off for boss fights), and also turn off the markers that show you where to go next.Graphically, I found this game to be quite.
