Trevor Belmont, a knight of the Brotherhood of Light sets out to avenge the death of his mother, at the hands of his own father, who has now returned from years of exile to take up residence in a mysterious castle. What was once Gabriel Belmont now stands a powerful vampire called Dracula. Dracula has declared war upon the Brotherhood and thus the scene is set for a cataclysmic showdown between Father and Son!

    It is a amazing game

  5. Jose angel Serrano Davalos

Its a great game mostly tons of fun but the auto save mid battle makes the game a little too easy, great story and battles tho..

  6. Jocelynn

This was my first Castlevania game I have ever played, and I absolutely loved it. At first I was a bit picky on the graphics, and style but after giving it a chance I had grown accustomed to the game’s art style. An interesting story line that leaves a cliff hanger that wants you to play the second game (which is sadly on another system.) It was a fun game to play!

Order arrived safely and on time. This was a gift for my brother and he loves the game and the quality of the graphics. All good since order was received 2 years ago.

…but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t kick ass! This game is beautiful with the 3D graphics really shining if you prefer them on. The emphasis is more on combat than past titles, with move sets being unlocked as you gain experience. There are also mental puzzles to figure out and some (barely) hidden areas to uncover as you try to explore the entire map. There are four different playable characters, and each has their own magic and special items to utilize during play. Make no mistake: this is not Metroidvania, and nor does it harken back to its NES roots; it is its own beast. There’s an emphasis on story that, by the way, is NOT cannon, that is voiced very well by talented voice actors and the twists and turns are a nice change from the dry story normally found in a Castlevania game. Overall, I give this 4 stars, but barely. It’s fun, and I love playing it, but what it isn’t holds it back the most. Still a totally solid purchase. I recommend it.

To start out with I have played EVERY Castlevania game since it’s original release. My favorites have been the “Metroid”-like quest such as Symphony of the Night. As this game does not top the list of Castlevania entries it is a solid addition that is at least above average. The game style is very similar to Lords of Shadow (dah… it’s the same series). I’ll list a few quick bullets on my thoughts:PROS-excellent graphics / music, first game on 3DS where I actually used the 3D mode-good story (although ending disappointing), tried to tie together lineage of past castlevania protagonist-play as several different characters during quest including Allucard, adds interest to game play-difficulty level on par with past games-good solid controls except in boss battles where it degenerates to hack and slash-length appropriate-I do like the new addition of showing the players a marking (red arrow) of where the next objective is on the map. Any Castlevania fan has wasted tons of time trying to figure out some obscure secret required to proceed in the game with NO clue where to start lookingCONS-once again it tries to imitate the popular God of War series with combo button sequences and extended dragged out boss battles with violent graphic cut scenes. God of War is one of my favorite franchises but I feel these additions take away from the Castlevania experience rather than enhance it.-bonus system limited in character enhancement, would like to be able to upgrade weapons vs. in.
