I owned PSX and GBA versions (FF Origin and Dawn of Souls)exactly same gameplay and storylinehowever, the graphics is re-designed, and looks pretty clear, like playing higher definition version, you can see the crack on the ground way easily (in Icy Cavern)it’s 2x price than Dawn of Souls/FF Origin (buy 2 separate games), the superior graphics worth the priceif you’re die hard FF fans, add these (I and II PSP ver) into your collection

This was the first game of it’s kind and the first one I ever played. I can still remember being 8 yrs old trying to figure out what “E-Quip” means. I have to “E-Quip” the nunchucks?Anyway port is good, adds some extras, speeds the game up and gives it decent mechanics. It’s about 10,000 x easier than the first one. The original defined the phrase “leveling up”, whereas it’s completely un-required in this one. Which is a bonus for sure. If you like the original, this doesn’t have quite the same feel, but it’s been almost 20 years so enough is the same that it sparked some memories..

This is a really great game, although there is almost no direction. I had to look up a walkthrough for it.

I told myself I wouldn’t buy another iteration of Final Fantasy 1. I resisted all my base impulses for years. Then I just bought it anyway. This remake of the classic that started it all, has been re-brushed and repackaged half a dozen times, but I can call this one the best of its evolutionary states. It has the best graphic touch up and the most extra content thus far. I plowed right through it the way a wino might attack a bottle of MD 20/20, and in similar fashion I am now left feeling cold and guilty and a bit ashamed once again. Final Fantasy why can’t I quit you!!!Excuse me I don’t know what came over me there. I will try to start the review off on a better foot. Let’s see. As remakes go this one is great. It really succeeds in capturing the essence of its aged counterpart, while eliminating all of the unmanageable game system quirks from the first. I will go into that more in a minute. Lets just say that I got my money’s worth considering the cheap price of this item on retrolio.Graphics and SoundThe sound is good. You will find all the same tunes from the original, with just a light touch up and a little less of that tinny analog sound that we grew up with. Right from the get go the all too familiar Final Fantasy Theme will let you know that you will soon be getting your fix of crystals swords and sorcery. The music in this Final Fantasy is memorable, if not a little subdued and strange. No complaints there. Things are a little sharper in this version and its a good ch.

This was among the first RPGs I played in the 80s as an elementary school kid. Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy will always have a soft spot for me because they made me into the RPG fanatic grown up I am today. I bought the FF1 remake on PS1 back when they remade it as Final Fantasy origins and still own it. But this version sounded interesting and it was $9.99 so I thought ‘what the heck’!But I was at first disappointed right away when I noticed that the cost in shops was half what it was in the original. For example, instead of 100 gil, the spells are 50 gil. So when before I started with Fighter, Red Mage, White Mage, and Black Mage I could by 2 chain mail, two cloth, weapons for each and then have gil for two spells (usually fire for black mage and Cure for white mage). This version I had enough gil to almost purchase the max spells for each of the three magic users. Hmph. The magic system is also different. You still buy the spells and you have a max of three per magic user per level. But they use MP instead of the limit of use per spell per level. This wouldn’t be an issue, except that they give you TONS of MP. So cure costs 4 mp and I have about 70 mp at level 4… sad…The battles are a little easier too it seems. I find that my characters are hitting better than in the original and getting multiple hits easier. My red mage was getting 2 hits per attack starting with level 2 or 3!I feel that perhaps SquareEnix wanted to ease off the ‘level grinding’ that w.

It’s the original Final Fantasy remastered for the PSP with a graphical update, new dungeons, items, and extra bosses. This is the definitive version of Square Enix’s classic original masterpiece.

Bough this for my husband. He is an avid Final Fantasy fan and LOVED this game for his hand-held. He owns pretty much every Final Fantasy game and this one has brought him many hours of playing pleasure. I don’t know too much else about the game except to say that it arrived well packaged and well kept and has not skipped or had any issues loading in the PSP. This game, I imagine, will offer many more hours/months/years of fun for my husband!
