As another reviewer said, this game is VERY addicting. I’m an avid 3DS gamer and love many of the IS strategy RPG games. Honestly this one didn’t appeal to me for a long time – I think this was due to the name, the cover art, and a personal aversion to SteamPunk. It just didn’t look like something I was interested in. After seeing a recent video on YouTube talking about IS games, I finally gave it a shot – the $10 price tag definitely made it more attractive. I have to say I’m really glad I did, because this game is awesome. The levels are a lot of fun, and the unique mix of FPS with Strategy RPG elements is very unique. The characters and story are really interesting – it uses both real and fictional characters from history and creates a comic-like, entertaining storyline. Really the draw here is the unique battle-system, and I can’t get enough of it. I like Advance Wars and Fire Emblem, but this one might just be my favorite. The only thing I’m worried about is that this game may not have done well enough for them to continue the IP. I would LOVE to see a sequel either on the 3DS or the Switch – let’s hope they give it one more shot.

Excellent gameplay with great Steampunk direction. Don’t be turned off by commented slow AI turns. These turns are actually quite useful to see how the enemy is strategizing. I spend much longer on my turns than the AI. With that said, the game has excellent art direction so if you’re a fan of Steampunk style and/or turn based strategy, this is an excellent pick. You’ll pick up various historical characters that you can put on your 4 person team throughout the story. Some are more well known than others (I especially like how John Henry is included as a man that historically lost to a steam powered drill in folklore and he exists in this game universe as powered by steam). Some characters though don’t really seem to have as much utility as others in various configurations but the extended roster will surely allow you to refine your team especially in the later missions. Missions themselves are rather well balanced though I found some were a bit too easy to even be a challenge and others were hard due to frequent enemy respawns but in such cases I had to leave my comfort zone to adapt to the style of the mission.Perhaps for a TLDR summary that’s a bit off-color, if you enjoyed the movie Inglorious Bastards for it’s rewriting of history, I can imagine that you would enjoy this game. ;)
This is a really great game by Intelligent Systems. I was hesitant at first to try it due to the bad reviews, but I am so glad I did. This is probably one of my favorite games for the 3ds. It is funny, challenging and really puts a unique twist on the strategy RPG genre. It also has great music! I’ve already played through this game twice and appreciated it even more the second time around. If you like strategy games like Fire Emblem, or are just looking for a new game, I highly recommend you try this game out. You won’t be disappointed.

Very fun turn-based 3rd person squad shooter. Fun story so far, and a very fun comic book feel atmosphere.

I bought this game based on a recommendation from the 3ds subreddit and I am happy with my purchase. The combat is similar to xcom and is a blast. Nothing like ABE LINCOLN personally meeting you to tell you that he needs your help to defeat an alien invasion. I have not gotten too far yet but I like the game so far.
Surprisingly good. Avoided it after initial reviews were bad.

I really like this game, and with the patch to improve the speed in the matches against the AI it gets better, nice improvement.

This is a really addictive turn base strategy game! I was on the fence about making the purchase but with so many positive reviews I took a chance. I really love the comic book style graphics and that is something I am surprised about. The 3D is pretty well done for this title as well. I can honestly say that I have never played a game like this before. Using the steam for movement and weapons is a really good way to constantly make you think about your next move. I really like how the game does not take itself too serious and is all about having fun. Very happy with my purchase!

Game’s alright. It’s better than I expected it to be. Was hoping for a mildly entertaining steampunk Fire Emblem clone, and that’s basically what it is. Not recommended for younger kids or those who don’t like turn-based strategy games.

This is game is absolutely worth the MSRP of $39.99. It has multiplayer, a great campaign, a decent story, phenomenal voice acting, and a very creative/intriguing art style that works great in 3D. The replay value is amazing as you can go back and replay a mission with different characters and use a different strategy. It’s not a difficult game to play but it does take some concentration and attention to detail to play it well. I love the fact that there characters are historical figures.
