Christmas present for son. He has Tsuro game and when he visits he brings it along and we all enjoy playing. This one added playing pieces to make game more challenging. It can also be played like original game when you don’t use the extra pieces.

Fun game for the whole family

  3. AydenLockman

This is a pretty fast-paced game and we’re loving it! Age range of our family is adults to 12 years old. I’d recommend it!

First off, the quality of the game is great. The board, tiles, and boats are great looking and don’t feel cheap. The game is a great "simple" game to play, that doesn’t have a lot of complex rules. Perfect for when you don’t want to think too hard. I got this version of Tsuro because it can be played similar to the old version, with the option to ramp up the level of challenge. I have yet to play it with the dragons, I look forward to trying it out with them some time.If you don’t have the original Tsuro, and you like options, then this is most likely the game for you.

As much as I love the original Tsuro, I can honestly say that this is a much better game. It turns the simple "follow the path" concept and makes it a much more intense, and potentially nerve wracking experience. Even better, if you want to play the original game, simply don’t place any water dragons into the seas, and the game will then play exactly like the original. For those unfamiliar with the original version of the game, the game consists of players taking turns placing tiles onto a grid next to their ship (token), and then moving any ships (tokens) that are on the resulting paths forward. If a ship (token) is moved to the edge of the board, the player that owns it is eliminated. The "last man standing" is the winner. This version of the game, as in some random monsters which can (and almost always will) wreak havoc on carefully designed survival plans that you had in the beginning of the game.Overall, a quick and very fun game for two or more people, but is even more entertaining if you can get the maximum eight players.

I picked up this game for the price of the original, which I love, so it was a must buy for me. The art is great and the quality is top notch. The base game is one of those simple games that anyone can enjoy and find challenging, perfect for families and great for any non-gamers.The reason it lost a star for me had to do with the added rules that come with the expansion. In addition the the base game, you also move several monsters around the board based on rolling dice. In theory, this should make game deeper or more exciting, but for me and the people I was playing with, we simply lost interest. It made the game seem completely out of our control and it really didn’t matter how much thought you put into your turn, there was always a good chance that a monster would eat you. The constant rolling of dice in addition to laying a tile also seemed to drastically slow down the turns.I love the base game and the art, and it will always be a go-to game for family gatherings, but the box also contains all the extra pieces that I really don’t see myself using in the future.

I enjoyed playing this second version of Tsuro. The changing sea dragons add a whole new dimension and extra tension. You can also play the normal way, though the boats are a bit clunky. Overall, fun!

If you have played Tsuro, you MUST play Tsuro of the Seas. Once the dragons are awake and moving along the board grid, you find yourself holding your breath and hoping you can sneak by them and play the right wake tiles to make you the final player and win the game. The game moves along quickly and even your opponents are rooting for you to sneak by the dragons.

Simple game play but still very very entertaining !! Defiently a game I will play again especially during camping season. The ship pawns were amazing and beautiful. The board is so beautiful and made very well. Love the idea of being able to make my own path with the tile cards and avoiding the daikaiju (monsters) and falling of the map !!

Read the dikiju movement ahead of time. The instructions for that section are a little confusing but once you understand it, only take 2 minutes to explain it during the game. This is a good sequel to the game Tsuro, and instead of the players being the giant monsters, they are ships trying to avoid them. Note that rows/columns 3 and 4 are the same, this is by design, don’t let it trip you up when placing dikiju on the board, simply roll again to avoid doubling up.Quick rundown of dikiju movement:At the beggining of your turn, roll both dice, if they equal 6,7,8 the dikiju move, if not, place your wake tile and go to the next person. If you rolled a 6,7,8 then roll one die, if it is a 6, place a new dikiju on the board same as you did to set up the game. If it is not a 6, then move the dikiju according to the number in the corner with gold having priority over blue 1-5. Move in direction of the arrow that number is on each dikiju tile or rotate it in place if that number is in the corner. They don’t move as much as you would initially think. They add a great element to the game and help change the board during the game as the dikiju will eat/erase wake tiles and other dikiju. Younger kids can get the hang of this just as quick but it’s still a good game for adults too!
