I’ve been getting back into board games recently, and I saw this one played on TableTop (google it if you like games!), so I decided to pick it up.When I opened the box, the quality of the components really blew me away. The little plastic ships are super detailed, and the path tiles are thick and shiny and just feel good to hold. The manual is elegant (and quite thorough). Everything physical about this game is seriously top notch.It’s a very ‘light’ game, where you only need to make the decision of which of your hand of tiles to play, to guide your ship.With the standard rules (i.e. dragons), the strategy elements will only come into play if you survive until much of the board is filled in. It’s too dependent on chance for my taste. I’ll still play it, but I usually lose through sheer bad-luck, and that gets a bit old. That being said, it works well with groups that enjoy chance heavy games. We actually created a house-rule where if a new dragon comes into play, it can’t land right on top of someone (we just re-roll). That diminishes the ‘lame bad luck’ deaths to some degree.Alternately, you can play without the dragons, and it becomes SIGNIFICANTLY less random (there’s still chance in the tiles you draw).

If you like the original game you’ll like this game too. The artwork is just as stunning as the original and the dragons keep get the game interesting.

We are experienced original Tsuro players and decided to buy this variation as a gift for some friends.We got to play it and enjoyed it. The Kaiju are an additional step in the game play, but keep it interesting. They move about and not only sink your ships but also clear away the paths you create. More than once this allowed someone to escape what, under normal Tsuro play, would have been certain doom.We also liked the option of leaving the Kaiju out and playing like original Tsuro.

The additions of the Dragon are fun but slow down the mechanics of what was a fast paced game.It’s fun to play and can still be played the normal way if you don’t like the added dragons ðŸ‘ðŸ½

Very fun and replayable. small learning curve. recommended to start on original tsoro but not required. fun game family enjoyed greatly.

Incredibly easy to pick up, no matter the age or experience with board games (especially when playing with at least one person who has played it). While simple, the games are quick. Perfect game for groups of friends who are hesitant to begin a longer game and would rather play several iterations of a shorter game.

The hubby and I originally played the first Tsuro with friends. Simple yet one must strategize at least two steps ahead. Nevertheless, the initial Tsuro was fun and so alluring which led us to purchase our first out of the many TableTop games that are now available. Tsuro of the Seas is an adaptation of the first but allows one to be further challenged by having Daiku (Sea Monsters) to strategize around. For a family of four, we found this game to be fun and allows our 11 year old to enjoy the ever-changing game play as well as keeping her mind alert and thinking ahead. This is family fun and I recommend it!

Something caught the eye of Kyle, the first mate of the good ship Garfield. Something in the water just off the side of ship. His legs were still trembling from the last encounter with a white dragon. Encounter wasn’t the right word. They had simply lucked out and skirted the dragon. It looked like it was going to advance on them and they were so perilously close, but it just turned and looked like something to its right had captured it’s attention. They had tried to be as quiet as they could but the wind was blowing and a ship can only be so quiet. Well at least this ship could.Those look like bubbles in the water. Well, that sort of thing could happen in these waters. Seven other ships had set sail and hoped to be the last one standing. One had already fallen to the red dragon in the south and two had rammed into each other, of all things, trying to avoid the green beast. They were doomed any way they went. I think the captain of one of those vessels was a little crazy anyway.That’s not just bubbles. Suddenly a huge green serpent rose beside our ship. It shot strait up as if to show off how long it was. It hurt kyle’s neck to look that high, but then it stopped, folded down making an arc, and started coming down. Down onto the good ship Garfield. He heard screams, one of them was his. And then he fell. His ship was broken in half and sinking. One of the spikes on the back of the sea serpent caught and pulled kyle down into the mess of splintered ship and.
