Not sure why but I’ve yet to find a turn based multiplayer game I enjoy as much as this one. (PC or Console!) It’s not super complicated and being able to play it with friends at a social gathering is great! I only wish I could play this with friends over the internet who live far away.

AWESOME!

a complex and interesting turn based strategy game. I remember playing this on the xbox first which offered less of a tutorial and left me a bit confused as to how the game worked. the ps2 version I feel is slightly better in that regard. all in all though the game revolves around a simulated scenario where you must command your armies and defend several areas of japan from an unknown invading force, utilizing terrain, unit strengths and weaknesses to your advantage and developing strategies on the fly.

THIS IS SUCH A NICE TURN BASED STRATEGY GAME, THE ONLY NEGATIVE ASPECT I CAN THINK OF IS THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A NEW MASTER OF MONSTERS GAME. THIS GAME IS FROM SYSTEMSOFT WHO MADE MASTER OF MONSTERS. I LOVE THE MENUS, THE HEXAGONAL GAME BOARD, EVERYTHING THAT I LIKE IN GRAPHICS. GREAT, GREAT LIBRARY. LIKE BEING ASLEEP IN THE FUTURE. IF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THAT MEANS THEN THIS GAME IS FOR YOU.

I know that the title of this review is a bit grandiose but it’s true. I’m a strategy game fanatic and I play all of them including Japanese titles so I know of what I speak. In Dai Senryaku VII Exceed’s case we’ve got a very satisfying game all-in-all. Let’s start with a description of what you’ll get in the box.Dai Senryaku VII Exceed is a modern era military, turn-based strategy game played on a hexagonal grid of varying terrain. A collection of units–referred to as an Army–from each country participating in the battle are arranged on this grid in a strategic manner. Each unit has strengths and weaknesses particular to its type. Utilizing the strengths of your army while exploiting weaknesses in the enemy until you satisfy victory conditions is the core of the gameplay in Daisenryaku VII. In this case think “Chess” only on a grand scale with modern day military hardware. Players of Advance Wars for the Gameboy Advance and DS will be at home here. Each country participating in a battle takes its turn by moving and taking action with some, all, or none of its units. Actions in Daisenryaku consist of resupply, moving, attacking, bombarding facilities, combining units, producing and placing units, loading units onto transports, and capturing facilities. The following countries are playable: Japan, America, Russia, Germany, England, France, Israel, and China. The following terrain elements combine to make Daisenryaku Exceed’s maps: Capital, City, Airport, Port, Factory, Refinery.

My son still plays it to this day. Even though his PS2 is broken, it works on his PS 3.

Dai Senryaku 7 was an entertaining game, but not without it’s flaws. On the plus side, the computer AI was pretty good and made you work for your victories. Leveling up units was good and made sense as new crews become veterans. Some levels were hard, but not impossibly so. I enjoyed the campaigns and got a few good weeks out of it.There were some technical problems with the gameplay. Aircraft burned a lot of gas on the move and had to head back often for refueling, but if they stayed in a hex for the entire turn without moving they used up very little fuel. Jets can’t do this at all, and helicopters can only do it by expending just as much fuel as if they were flying fast. Squads could replace lost units at cities and bases, which makes sense only to a point. A destroyed tank can often be repairs and returned to battle. A jet or helicopter that goes down is in pieces and can’t be repaired at all. Lastly, a few units seems stronger than they should be. US tanks rated lower than the top line Russian and European tanks, but in real battles US tanks have done extremely well against their Russian counterparts. Conversely, the US stealth bomber could drop a ridiculous number of bombs before running out of ammo.Overall I’m still pleased. It is an older game, so I don’t expect perfection, but I feel I got good value for what I spent.

This game plays almost exactly like Super Conflict for SNES… The funny thing is the graphics are only slightly better. I’ve seen better graphics on PSX (like on the stategy game Nectarus). That being said this game is fun, as fun as a strategy game can be. It’s deep with unlockables. I bought it for $15.99 on retrolio. A nice cheap game. If you like turn based war games, almost a boardgame style of play via Allied General or Panzer General(both PSX and better graphically)This game is a must have.
