I bought this hoping it would help me get off the couch and get some exercise because I know I won’t do it the traditional way. I was right! I don’t care about the songs being a few years behind, and if you don’t mind that you will love it. I’m rythmically challenged but even I can do it. It gives you the option to slow it down or speed it up and the levels range from easy to hard. It’s great exercise that doesn’t feel like exercise at all.

As a serious dancer, I love this game. For the first time in my life, I am playing a game on Hard and doing great! I have played Rock Band, Karaoke Revolution and of course thousands of other video games – and I never excelled at anything like I am at this. So, it is seriously fun for me as I zoom through the levels and pick up achievements. But that’s not the only reason I like it.The music is great, a variety of 70s disco, hiphop, reggae, and pop. There are a huge variety of movements. The choreography is actually quite well put together! There is a logical progression through the levels, and the choreography repeats itself often enough for you to learn it to the point where you don’t need to reference the flashcards. The movements really match the music, sometimes even the lyrics!Having all the achievements and levels is a fun motivator too. I love games that let me unlock stuff, as I get a thrill from it, and getting achievements excites me too. I guess that’s why they add things to games – people need more than a fun playing experience sometimes – they need their little star chart…and I’m no different.I can say it compares strongly to the Wii dance game, whose name I’ve already forgotten. That game was much less satisfying because the Wii doesn’t have what the Kinect has – the ability to actually see you move. It’s not hard to dance with this game and they don’t penalize you much for missing a step, but they _can_ tell if you used the right arm and even if.

I have been a fan of dance video games for years now – I own two DDR games, “Just Dance” for Wii, and now Dance Central. I didn’t think it would make that much of a difference, but not having to use a controller is a big plus. The instructions for the moves are still not as detailed as I’d like, and their version of “slowed down” isn’t really. It isn’t perfect at tracking the hand movements, especially if the movements happen in front of your body or over your head. It can be mildly frustrating when I know I’m doing a particular move right and it says otherwise, or I do the same move the same way twice and one time it says “flawless” and the next it blinks red. I’d still say it’s the best dance video game out there so far! I’d give it 5 stars if it had more songs and routines to choose from.

My children and I play this game all the time, we have the first and the third one. They absolutely love it, they are 6 and 7, and it gets everyone up and moving. Great way to spend some time with the family and have a blast!

I can’t dance… no seriously, I can’t. That said, I have a lot of friend who love to go to clubs and love dancing. So I figured what the heck, I will give it a try. This game ROCKS! It is one of the funnest games I have ever played. Let me break it down for you.PROS:1) Anyone can play. The game teaches you the dance moves. Then it gives you some practice trys. Then you get to “Perform”.2) The game gives really good feedback. When you miss a move, it shows you which part of your body wasn’t moving right by outlining it in red.3) The tracks are pretty good. There is a lot of music you would hear at clubs today and some that you haven’t heard for a while.4) The sound and visuals are pretty cool. I thought I would get bored listening to track during practice, but you really don’t because you are concentrating on what is happening on screen.5) Watching your friends play this is AWESOME. If they are good dancers (particularly hip-hop) it is a great way for them to perform. If they are not good dancers… well it is fun to watch them pretend.CONS:1) You are going to need a lot of space. That should go without saying (this is a dance game).2) Don’t let your friends record you playing this game and then post it on youtube. If you have a Kinect, you must buy this game.

This is my favorite Kinect game so far! I love all the songs and how fun it is to play. I would highly recommend this game for anyone looking to get it. It gives you a breakdown of the moves on all skill levels if you like or you can just jump right in if you want. I like turning on work out mode so I can see how many calories I am burning as well. Great game!

This is a really fun game. I think my friends and I enjoy it more than the kids do. You can choose your person, dress them, and dance. It’s a great workout.

I played the demo of this game included on the Kinect Adventures disc, and me and my friends got very tired of doing Poker Face and Poison about 100 times, so I ordered this game. After being delayed by a snowstorm and a weekend, it finally showed up. I got home, ripped open the packaging, put the game in and started it up.The first thing I liked was that I was now able to pick the dancer, because quite frankly, having a guy do the moves makes it feel a little bit less awkward. So there I was, I picked Mo, and picked a song at random and started it. I WAS TERRIBLE. It took me 10 minutes to completely understand the first move of Evacuate the Dance Floor. I was even in slow it down mode (which I am now eternally grateful for). Ok. First move down, the next one has got to be easier. Only slightly. After about 30 minutes, I made it through the breakdown on easy. I attempted to ‘perform’ the song, and barely squeaked out 2 stars. I gave up and made dinner. An hour later I was trying again. Crap, this game is addictive. It was now 2 hours later than I normally go to bed, and I was still playing… just one more song, I know i can do it better. This game is a workout. Even if you are doing the moves not quite right, you are feeling them. Progressing to hard, and man, you’ll be feeling it in the morning. While I am super terrible at this game, my fiancée was able to jump right in and get 5 stars on pretty much every song she tried (though it was on easy). Together we w.

I’ll begin this review by saying I’m a horrible dancer, but can perform fairly well on the easy difficulty. The game gets ridiculously hard when you change the difficulty to anything other than easy. I’m sure with it’s possible to master any difficulty level of the dances. One of the major benefits of this game is that it is possible to get a nice workout without really realizing that you’re actually working out. It is also a great party game.A note to potential buyers: I would suggest getting Dance Central 2 if you want to have two people play simultaneously, as only one person can play by themselves in the first version of Dance Central (it makes you switch off during multiplayer).

I bought my wife the Kinect with this game and another for Christmas. We were in a Best Buy in early Dec and she saw someone playing this game and her eyes completely lit up. She tried it out (btw, very funny) in the store and wanted it immediately. I’m always a skeptic when it comes to gimmicky-type things like this, but I’ve become a believer in that the Kinect not only works, but developers are creating good games to take advantage of the technology. This game, and I admit, I have played it a few times, is very fun. The Kinect cameras really seem to pick up each arm/leg movement and scores pretty accurately. There is a lot of moving in this game, or dancing, which is not my strongest asset. I like the layout of this game. I’m a big Guitar Hero/Rock Band freak, and this has that same feel to it – scoring wise. For a guy with no body rhythm, I find that the moves are not too difficult and does not become discouraging. My wife loves it. She plays this on Hard level and almost daily now, which unfortunately is cutting into my game time, but I digress. We don’t go to clubs, so I didn’t know she could dance. But with all the moving on Hard level, the Kinect still seems to accurately capture and score all her moves. The songs, well, I’m not a big fan of them, but it is a dance game, so you need dance songs. In a nutshell, this game is an excellent buy. The movements are captured very well and it is a lot of fun. As always, I have to give retrolio kudos. I ordered th.
