Three years have passed since the events of Dead Space, in which Isaac Clarke survived the bloody ravaging of a mutated crew and a slew of monsters called necromorphs aboard the USG Ishamura, a planetary mining ship that found itself stranded in space. After escaping the Ishamura and being rescued by an EarthGov ship, Clarke now finds himself locked-up in an asylum aboard the Sprawl, a massive space-station orbiting Jupiter. Sure enough, the Sprawl proves to be no safer than the Ishamura and is quickly filled with monsters and spilled blood.Dead Space 2 opens with a brief cinematic to get players caught up before dumping them into an insanely addictive game of survival-horror. The game’s opening moments are an exhilarating rush that underscores its mission statement well: hooking gamers with ripe moments of shock-value, intense action, and the primary aim of simply surviving against overwhelming odds. When you first gain control of Clarke, he is manacled in a straight-jacket and trapped in a dark room filled with necromorphs. The only way out is through, and players are tasked with running around a series of obstacles while avoiding the blood-thirsty ghouls around them. It’s a fun introduction to the dynamics of the game as players are naturally guided through the combat and control systems along the way. As a tutorial, it functions organically within the game and is made compelling simply out of sheer necessity. It provides a quick learning curve, but little breathin.

I am playing this game again on the harder level. I love how many levels this game is. Most games now are for online play and they have like only 5 levels. This one has 15! This game is really hard to loose at on the normal level. There are tons of save points, checkpoints(if you miss a save before you turn it off and die)ammo and health(you can also buy at the store throughout the game). I also like the store use in this game. You earn money and find things to sell for money at the store. You can even store things for later use if you would like. That is a really good feature as you can only ‘hold’ so many items on your suit(stronger suits hold more items). You work through the game adding money from which to upgrade and buy items and suits that have added strengths. Most games do not differ much from one hardness to the next but this is a little different. You can beat the game and play again and keep all your weapons their upgrades. The monsters are the same as they were before but harder to kill(but you have your upgraded weapons!) You now find less money and ammo and weapon upgrades to add. You can get even better suits of armor as well. If you really feel nuts you can play the "insane" hardest version. I will not go into detail here but suffice it to say that it is almost unheard of what they did. Check the play by play websites for the info on this. I like this game and would recommend this to anyone who just wants a good game to play and shoot some nasty mutan.

After years of watching Zaranyzerak play the Dead Space games on youtube, I got a PS3 JUST to play all three games. Very cool. I thought that the controls were a lot better in this second game. DS2 isn’t as creepy as the first game, but the gameplay is much improved. And you actually get to hear Issac speak in this game….though I’m not sure that that’s a good thing. I liked it when he was silent. DS2 is much harder than the first game, though after you play it through a few times and build up upgraded weapons, nodes, and suit and suit power, it’s not so tough.

I haven’t played a survival horror game since Resident Evil: Code Veronica, so I’m a bit out of practice. I must say though that Dead Space 2 was immensely enjoyable through the (what took me) 11 hour ride from start to finish (medium difficulty). I felt like the game was just long enough and actually wished it kept going, but once I beat it I immediately began New Game+.The story is really well done, well acted, perfectly paced – I feel like the psychological aspect could have been used more, but the ending nailed it. Having never played Dead Space 1 I can’t really compare, but I really enjoyed playing this and had a hard time putting the controller down. Visceral really nailed the atmosphere in all aspects, a brilliant effort. They do a really great job of making you/Isaac feel like a hardcore bad A necromorph killer and I loved it. I remember thinking “That would be awesome if they played rock music when you upgrade your suit” fully knowing most games never nail these moments. First time I suited Isaac up, rock music hit and put a giant smile on my face.My sole complaint is that I got very tired with the ambush moments. I realize this is a staple of the genre, but I would find myself walking through a level, entering a giant room and thinking to myself, this is where the ambush will happen. 9 times out of 10 I was right.I do have another small critique, but it’s a minor spoiler so I’ll include it in the Comments section – but please know this is merely my opinion. Overall.

This game is my favorite then the original dead space. The original was scary and this is just the same with even more monsters longer game and great new monsters. I like how they added new gameplay elements like fighting in space with huge monsters and the train level is extremely epic with a stand out story other games need to study the gameplay design to this because its marvelous I think only Assassins creed Brotherhood is the only other game that has the best of both worlds like this. A huge frightening story at 2o hours and a great multiplayer where your are both 4 isaacs fighting the beasts or you are the beasts hunting the humans being the kiddies as i like to call them jumping on their heads and splitting them open. Plus they added a free map pack which is great to keep supporting the game and you level up your online character to get new stuff a la call of duty. And also the ps3 version has the exclusive dead space extraction which is great with 2 player coop me and my girlfriend loved it and she rarely plays games much like rockband littlebigplanet but the ps move controls were excellent. 3 games for the price of one and now at 39.99 is like a steal. Well im gonna get back to hardcore mode that only lets u save 3 times and get killed like a million times lol for that platinum trophy.

In the year 2511 in a densely populated city called the Sprawl, Isaac Clarke wakes up wearing a straight jacket. Things are disorienting and dark. A man is standing in front of him talking quickly as if something is wrong. He’s telling Isaac that he’s got to get out of the Sprawl, that they’ve got to go now. Before he has a chance to free Isaac’s bonds, a necromorph attacks the man from behind, impaling him with its razor-sharp limbs. Isaac shrugs the man and monster aside and begins running for his life, through dark and ruined corridors. All around necromorphs are appearing, snarling and pursing Isaac as he flees. So begins Dead Space 2.The game is a direct sequel to the bestselling Dead Space. It continues the story that began with the events that happened aboard the USG Ishimura and the return of the Marker. The Church of Unitology is expanded more, as is the science and culture of the times. The Sprawl is located on a shard of Titan, a moon of Saturn, and this metropolis is basically one large space station. Schools, hospitals, churches, malls, and many other sites exist in the city and all fall to the destruction of the necromorphs.Throughout the game, Isaac makes his way around the city, looking for a way to stop the dementia affecting his mind and to stop the affects of the Marker. On his journey he must work out many puzzles (good thing he’s an engineer) to get through the wasted city. Many things are similar between the first and second games. Gameplay i.

Purchased for my grandson. It came on time and he tells me that he loves it. He even has a t-shirt depicting a logo or something about it. I know nothing about any of this since it is so completely out of my age group. My grandson is a very good with anything paranormal or sci-fi and he looked it up on retrolio and told me about it and I purchased it for him.

this game was absolutely epic. i don’t know how to describe my utter overjoy when i got a couple chapters into this game. the game play is so much smoother and Isaac moves a lot faster, which allows for better fighting. i never even knew you could beat a necromorph to death until playing dead space 2, since in the first one Isaac moved so painfully slow after every melee or stomp that it was practically a death wish to attempt to hit them more than once. honestly, one of my favorite parts of this one is that the player has so much more control over the objects in the setting. i spent much time busting through glass windows, vases, bars, and hitting miscellaneous objects sitting upright on desks, just because i could :) i am one of those people who did get very jumpy and anxious while playing dead space due to the surprise attacks and not wanting poor isaac to lose his life, and i can say that dead space 2 had the same exact effect on me. going from playing dead space to dead space 2 was mind blowing, all the things i loved about dead space just got 5x better in the second one. it’s a great game, my favorite, and i recommend it to all of my friends.

This game is what all the reviewers of major gaming websites are saying because this is a monster of a sequel. If you liked the first Dead Space then you will definitely like number 2. The gameplay is the same as the first game and little has changed from the first game. There are however many more weapons and suits to choose from and this makes the game better with having more of a variety of weapons to choose from. The guns are little different than what they were in the first one like the ripper is different than in the first game with having a shorter range and a bigger blade. The bigger blade makes it so you can see it a lot more clearly than you did in the first game. Another addition to Dead Space 2 is multiplayer which I do have to say is ridiculously unbalanced you fight as an engineers or a necromorph but when you fight as a necromorph you are always at a disadvantage and you wont stand a chance against the engineer team. I really like Dead Space 2 and if you liked the first game then pick this one up because you won’t be disappointed.

If you enjoyed the first game, then you’re gonna like this one as well. It’s got everything that made the first one good and then some, overall they improved on everything. The story is entertaining, and the new suits look great. Each suit also has a bonus effect on it which may influence your decision on what suit to wear. All the weapons from the first game are in this one along with a few new additions, so there’s a lot of fun to be had using all the different weapons in the game to slay some Necromorphs. There are a few suits that you are only able to find after playing through the game on subsequent playthroughs on a new game + mode, and there are others that you get from clearing the game on a specific difficulty setting. In a new game + mode your inventory is carried over from your last save point into your new game. This is a nice feature because it adds replay value to the game, and it’s just fun to have access to your favorite weapons early on that you’re not supposed to get until later in the game. This game looks a little darker to me than the first one. I never had any problems seeing things in the first one, but in this game I had to adjust the settings on my TV along with the in game brightness, until I found something that worked nicely.I tried the online multiplayer once, and it was fun to get the chance to play as a Necromorph. It’s a nice addition, but I’m more interested in the single player mode, which is loads of fun. If you love a good challenge then ther.
