Not sure why this game got mixed reviews, great game

Dead Space 3 is a good game, but not as good as Dead Space & Dead Space 2. Dead Space 3 has become more action based rather than horror. One of the reasons why I like Dead Space & Dead Space 2 was how great the horror elements were in the both of these games. Dead Space 3 does provide a great amount of action, but it does not provide the same level of enjoyment I had with the first two games. I miss the horror elements that made Dead Space & Dead Space 2 the greatest survival horror games I have ever played. The first two games provided so much dread, and sent chills down my spine playing them I knew I finally found my favorite horror games. Those feelings did not exist with Dead Space 3. The stories were also better in the first two games the story in Dead Space 3 was somewhat dull. I found the story a little boring after awhile. Overall, I liked Dead Space 3, but I would have loved it if it provided the same horror elements that made me fall in love with the Dead Space games in the first place.

The game fits well with it’s predecessors story wise and answers a whole bunch of questions from the other games. Some of the fear is lost in this game but it makes up for it in action and fun! Don’t get me wrong the fear is still there! The necromorphs have change and now carry with them a sense of dread(but in a good way) the new weapon crafting is fun and creative. The only thing I don’t like is this stupid huge crab thing!! It’s really dumB! But anyway it’s a good game.

Finally completed my trilogy collection of Dead Space with this order. This game came a long way and it’s sill, in my opinion, one of the most original games ever. The idea of being in outer space when a biological/ psychological/ metamorphic disaster erupts is by far the craziest ideas ever thought of but at the same time the idea was so simple and right there in front of yours faces the whole time. Every turn you take and ever silent step you make will always be interrupted by the sickest monsters you’d never want to meet in real life. I love this game and will always stand by its originality.

Nice game, but the multiplayer aspect of it could have been handled better to enhance the solo experience.

Having played Dead Space 1 and 2, and having loved both Dead Space 1 and 2, I was skeptical when i began reading reviews of this game saying it had completely lost it’s horror aspect. I became angry at the idea that it changed without first experiencing it myself. Now, in college wanting something to play but not desiring to buy the first two games again for my ps3 (played the 2nd on the 360 and the first on the 360 and PC), I can say that this has not disappointed me with the enjoyable gameplay, and I have realized that I love Dead Space for the gameplay and somewhat dark atmosphere.I can now say Dead Space is not a horror game, the first one may have had a creepy attitude, and the second may have been leading into an actiony-feel, but once you play the third one you realize you have seen it all. However, I only so far in the actual game. I have not reached the Ice Planet of Tau Volantis and am still in Outer Space. There is plenty of time for any of these thoughts to change if the game suddenly becomes drastically horrifying.Graphics wise: Beautiful game, beautiful atmosphere. You really know you are in a space ship filled with the corpses of people who succumbed to dementia, or watched those around them succumb to dementia instead.Gameplay: This iprobably has the best gameplay of the series, but not very good pacing. When you’re not using your engineering skills, you are blasting necromorphs. This would be fine, except it starts to get a little repetitive, especially with the.

I had a really hard time putting this game down. I played through it three times without stopping. That’s very unlike me – I’m usually done with a game after the first play through. The first two games were like that for me, too, so it’s no surprise.A lot of people complained about this turning into an action game. It didn’t. The addition of battling humans here and there actually broke up the monotony of shooting necromorphs. It added some variety that was seriously lacking, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The humans were also scary in their own way and added to the atmosphere of the game and the sense of tension. At the end of the day it’s still a horror story, and the humanity involved in the third installment did not detract from that fact.I recommend the Dead Space trilogy to anyone that’ll listen. They’re amazing games.

I consider myself more of an oldschool gamer (first console was Atari 2600) I’ve never been a fan of online play but I enjoyed the coop mode with a friend. The game play was fun and challenging when random monsters jump out. The anti gravity levels were grate. Much improved over the last 2 games. The story was very confusing but I can over look that for when the overall experience was great.

Had to buy this even if I have 2 copies already

  10. Gamer

I bought this game used and there was not a single scratch or smudge on it! It was like brand new! As far as gameplay goes, this game is tons of fun. It’s a little different than it’s two predecessors in terms of horror. This game is more of an action title than horror. It has it’s pop up scares, but overall not very scary compared to Dead Space 1 and 2. But it’s still a great game! I highly recommend the game and purchasing from retrolio! Couldn’t ask for better!
