Awesome game. Can’t believe they never made a Demon Stone 2.

Rannek, a forlorn warrior with a haunted past, walks along a lonely path. He believes he is alone in the world and has nothing to live for. A dragon’s shadow passes overhead. Are those orcs he hears stalking him? There is a cry for help.Without even a moment to consider the danger, sword drawn, Rannek thrusts himself into a battle for which he is destined. Thus began one of the best written video games I’ve ever seen.Yeah, it’s short. Seems that every bad review out there has this as their top complaint. You can finish the game in 5 to 10 hours. (Probably 10 unless you are good at this sort of game.) Since this game was originally sold for half the price of other games, I failed to see the point of this criticism back then, since “short” is meaningless except in the context of how much you get for your dollar. Now that you can buy the game used for a few bucks, this criticism is entirely meaningless. Even the worst reviews of this game admit it’s got good graphics, nice action, and an interesting story. But they just couldn’t see past the short play time — which never did turn out to be an issue. Heck, you’ll probably want to replay the game more than once. The other main complaint about this game is it’s lack of multiplayer. Okay, that would have been awesome. But isn’t that a bit like complaining that High Noon just isn’t a very good Sci Fi movie? This game is what it is. It’s hands down the single best example of how to integrate narrative with action game play and RPG eleme.

So, no, it’s not Baldur’s Gate, but what is? It’s a fun game and closer to the BG family than a lot of dungeon crawlers. Kept us entertained and wasn’t glitchy like so many others. If you’ve run out of games to play, this is definitely worth the time.

The best thing about a video game is the story. Demon Stone has a superb one. The great story is supported with awesome graphics, stunning soundtrack and visuals, top-notch voice overs, and just plain fun. Go through several chapters slashing your way through. This game isn’t epic. But it is totally worth a rent to beat.

Ok this is my first review for retrolio so bear with me if it’s bad. First off, this game is quite good. The plot is true Salvatore material, and is the highlight easily for getting it. That and being able to play as everyone’s fave drow Drizzt doesn’t hurt either. Plus the graphics are well done and tie with LOTR: Return of the King for best looking adventure game. But with all this, the game does have it’s dark spots, mainly it’s length and the upgrade system. As cool as it sounds to give your guys better armor and whatnot, you’ll more than likely just go with the autobuy option and skip it. Sure you can fine tune what elements your weapons are imbuned with if you go in and do the shopping yourself, but it’s all rather meaningless. Also, i beat the game in one afternoon..not the best length for a $50 game. Plus there is one other gripe..and that’s the lack of co-op. If this game had co-op it would easily be better than ROTK. Nevertheless, if you are a fan of epic adventure games in the vein of ROTK, then you owe it to yourself to get this game.

Game itself is great as u get to play all the characters and switch on the fly. My personal favorite would have to be the half drow thief as she blends to the shadows so good only the most skilled monster could see her. Has a very interesting plot line and aside from being a linear RPG like the lord of the rings fellowship and return of the king games instead of from a free roam this game is awesome. I highly recommend this game to anyone that likes instant action in their RPGs. Fast shipping and great quality as can be expected from retrolio and their shops. 5 out of 5 stars across the board

liked to play it just a tad bit hard for me to play

Demon Stone Forgotten Realms PS2 is a fully realized RPG written by R.A. Salvatore and voiced in part by Patrick Stewart. The only knock on this game is that it’s too short. There is a LOT to praise about this game. From the very beginning they immerse you into an active, vibrant world with awesome characters. Your team is made up of a solitary fighter, a snappy half Drow rogue and a risk-taking magician. The dialogue and personality is great – the little comments they make to each other along the way are brilliant. The world they venture through is fully realized. There are massive, dark battle scenes, shimmering caverns of ice, and much more. You really get a sense that this team is thrown together and slowly learns to work together and support each other. The voice talent is amazing. Patrick Stewart? Superb! It adds a rich dimension to the game. Even the background sounds of wind whistling through the caverns is well done. I love it.Why is this game not 100% perfect? It is only how short it is. The entire game can last maybe 8-10 hours. And that’s it. You can go back and replay a few times, but there isn’t much in there to change. In other games we can play them for months and months and be thrilled with it. Here you really get one pass through it. It’s a spectacular pass through, I’ll admit, but still, it’s a single pass game.So this is sort of a mixed situation for me. I adore the game. I highly recommend it. But with people being on tight budgets, it’s hard to justify the.

Dungeons and Dragons has, for a long time, been one of those things I never understood. I’ve always wondered why people let themselves get so immersed in these worlds that they would begin to live those fictional lives in which they play in a game. I’ve since learned that this is a sign of insanity, but I also learned that the world in which they are immersing themselves in is truly a magical one.Demon Stone is a video game based in Forgotten Realms, a side-world in the D & D universe, made popular by Ed Greenwood and R.A. Salvatore, two power house fantasy writers. In fact, R.A. Salvatore wrote the story surrounding the three main characters in Demon Stone, and even brings in his most legendary character: Drizzt Do’Urden. The story itself follows Rannek, Illius, and Zhai as they battle to save the Realms from two creatures released from the shattered Demon Stone. These two demonic beings, at war within the crystal, continue the war that had had them sealed inside of it, and this war threatens to swallow the lands in destruction. With the help of a Khelben, a wizard who was witness to the original war, the heroes learn what is needed to destroy these creatures, and travel all over the Realms to achieve this goal. The basic layout of the game is very similar to a beat-em up. You travel around as all three characters, switching at advantageous moments between the three, while battling seemingly endless hordes of enemies. It keeps from getting tedious because of the separate skil.

The graphics, storyline, and voice acting is superb for this title. However, the story itself is way too short. I expect RPGs to take at least 20 hours of my time — this took maybe 10. The fighting mainly consists of slashing your way through monsters and would have been better served by a turn based system. However, this is one of the better D&D games for the PS2, so I would recommend it as a rental.
