    My daughter and myself love Cake Boss. I just went back and rewatched season One and loved seeing Sal again and seeing mama before she got sick. It is wonderful to see all the great cakes they make.

    This is a great show for a few good reasons. First, I can watch it with my kids. Barring the occasional cuss word, and one episode with a customer who was a drag queen, the content is such that I don’t worry what my 8 year old is seeing and I don’t have to answer any awkward questions.Right. Secondly, Buddy, in his own family business way, is a good leadership role model. He fundamentally cares about his employees (kind of has to because most are his family). Second, he uses fair judgment (most of the time. I couldn’t believe he let Mary back in after what she did; forget which season that was). Third, he understands the business and tries to motivate the staff to understand it as well. On some it rubs off, like his brother-in-law Mauro, and on some it falls off. (I’ll let you figure out who I’m talking about.)Ultimately, it’s a great show and I can usually find a good lesson in there for my kids. What more could a father ask?
