Disgaea 2 is a lot of fun. I really enjoy the sprites in this game and the characters are great. I love the included Japanese voices as well. Game play is like any Disgaea game, and leads to hours upon hours of gameplay with multiple endings. Highly recommended.

I started playing the disgaea saga like around 5 years ago, maybe more than with the first hour of darkness. Always been an rpg fan and I love the fact that the psp is now adding several of the best ones back. Love the game, this game means hours and hours of fun. Strongly recomend this one!!!

  3. Justin Buckner

Fun game, there is alot to do and you can sink abunch of hours into this game easily.

  4. Sheena

This game is excellent. Loved the story, characters and most of all, the game play. I started with Disgaea 2 for PS2 and loved the series ever since.

Great fun game that will give any player hours of game play.Especialy after the story mode ends you could still continue play and level-in up your caracters.Pick a copy or start with the first Disgaea game witch is twice a better and more entertaning game.

After doing a ton of game review research on this game, I decided to take the plunge and try it out. It turns out that the naysayers were all wrong. The game is designed for BOTH the casual story oriented Strategy RPG player AND the hardcore grinding player. There is no need for any newcomer to the game to worry about at all, the advanced game mechanics (such as the geocubes and geosymbols) will take a few tries to understand, and even then you don’t need to understand all the advanced features to be able to finish the game’s storymode. If you are the dedicated type that wants to achieve every stat boost possible and to upgrade you item to insane levels, this is the game for you. For the rest of the demographic this game is aimed at (like me), those that enjoy a decent, funny story to go along with strategic RPG combat, this is a title that will offer a lengthy story campaign that brings a smile to one’s face.If you like Final Fantasy Tactics and other strategic RPG titles, this is the psp game you need to have.

Disgaea 2 has got to be one of my favorite games. You play as the hero Adell, a young human who feels the need to defeat the Overlord Zenon, a fantastically powerful demon who has turned Adell’s entire world into a planet of demons. The setup is that Adell’s mom is a conjuror who attempts to summon Zenon through a spell to help her son and to get herself turned back into a human, but the spell goes awry and Zenon’s daughter Rozalin turns up instead. Adell, being ever the hero, decides to escort Rozalin back to her father’s domain and then lay the smackdown on him to reverse the spell and return his world’s humanity. This lays the groundwork for some interesting revelations and makes for an intriguing story to hang the gameplay on. The game is more strategy than RPG, as you move your characters about gameboards that have various advantages or disadvantages assigned to them before making an attack. Playing through the main storyline the boards remain the same for each encounter, so you can replay them as much as you need to level up your recruitable army of characters. Name them, equip them, augment their strengths and bolster their weaknesses; these are YOUR characters. But the most fun is entering the “Item” world, an option after the first few levels, that allows you to extract extra powers to place on your character’s equipment. These are all randomly generated boards that become puzzles for you to solve as you decide the best way to proceed. This is where you ca.

Tristan being another person who rated and reviewed the game…..said just about everything I would say. I will add that I’ve played Disgaea and Disgaea 2 on the PS2,Disgaea 3 on the PS3 and Disgaea:Afternoon of Darkness on the PSP. The series (at least to me) seems much more suited for the PSP, just for the fact that you can’t get enough of the game and need to play it all the time, any time, any where! And the fact that NIS can actually port the whole game to the PSP AND ADD ADDITIONAL CONTENT is flippin’ sweet (although it doesn’t really help the case about the Disgaea series lacking graphically, but thats a different gripe for a different time =) ). I just started the game myself and chose Axel’s story mode because I wasn’t interested in just playing through the same thing that I did on the PS2 version. Not sure what to expect, but it feels just a tad more difficult than the regular story mode, that’s a good thing though because later on, the main story gets real easy when you get overpowered. If you’ve never played a game in the Disgaea series and you are a fan of SRPG’s, then you have to at least try this game. If not on the PSP, then I recommend getting the PS2 version. If you have played Disgaea 1,2 or 3, then you know what to expect….SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR! Buy the game already. Stop waisting your time reading my crappy review. Adel, Rozalin, Asagi, Axel and more chameos than you can blow up with a single Prinny await….ZAM!

Loved the game. Its what I expected of the series

As a big fan of the Disgaea series, I wasn’t sure what to expect when going into this game. I played
