Any fan of Final Fantasy Tactics or any games in that style is going to love this game. Not only is the gameplay tight, but the anime style art is gorgeous and the game has a wicked and very self aware sense of humor (there’s a recurring character who’s actually called "Mid-Boss.") It’s easy to sink an insane number of hours into this if you’re truly into maxing out your army and weapons. It’s also highly customizable if you make use of the option Dark Assembly feature. My one big complaint (and I know this is going to sound like a nit pick, but it bugged me more and more as the game went on) is the lack of any kind of overland map. This may sound like a minor point, but because you access every single combat area from the same central hub and all you ever do in any setting other than that hub is fight it feels like you’re never actually traveling or progressing. Something as simple as a world map just to give a sense of geography and opening up new areas would have gone a long way towards removing the otherwise very insular feel of the game.

This game is indeed a diamond in the rough. If you are new to Nintendo DS games and their library of games, you would not realize that there is a lot of shovel-ware being throughout out on the shelves of electronic stores. It is inevitable to happen to some systems. If you don’t already know what shovel-ware is, let me tell you; shovel-ware refers to horrible soft(ware) that is sold out on the market. Games that nobody would pay to play, but with a nice looking cover, they get tricked into buying. So, now you know that, let me just say…this game is the farthest thing from it. Disgaea DS is originated from the Playstation 2, by the company Atlus. You play as the Prince of Darkness, and complete a set amount of missions. It is very hard to explain this game, due to its depth and creative system of playing. Let me put it this way, it is a funny and awesome turn based role-playing game/strategy game. One you would find hard to put down. The music is a huge improvement from the PS2 version, and the gameplay seems much cleaner and more intuitive. This is a truly hard game to review, due to the depth and creativity of it. I just have to say, it’s a definite purchase if you like turn based strategy/RPG games, Disgaea DS is a pure winner for you. Endless ours of fun! I have to give the game a 4.8 out of 5.

This game was tons of fun however I get kinda frustrated is to how can I make my majin more powerful to beat prinny baal and steal his items at the max enemy level (I want more of a challenge) But if you want the extra characters from this game and you want faster gameplay, get the PSP version. In the mean time if your a nintendo fan, then buy this game but however, very little voice acting and the music is toned down for a reason. So if you already have a DS, buy this game. And the 3DS should play this too. Great tactical RPG compare to phantom brave (Although Phantom Brave has its perks) and its a perfect growth system it really changes how you play a RPG and its so hilarious sometimes. The voice acting is much more improved than the Ps2 version actually

Really that is all that needs to be said. This is Disgaea but on your DS. There is less voice acting then in the PS2 version, but that is a small price to pay. Tight controls, tight game play, vast variety of enemies and potential allies and a near endless amount of game play. This is one of the best games ever made for the Turn Based Strategy fan & the RPG fan.

Disgaea is a many-faceted game that is utterly addictive both for its amusing story and for the insane potential for completism. You can take any character to level 9999, enter any item and level it up to 99, remove stats from one item and fuse them into another, suborn and level any monster, and teach almost any skill to almost any character. A devoted gamer could play Disgaea and only Disgaea every day for a year, eight hours a day, and still not exhaust the opportunities for more. However, the other reviews have covered how addictive and fun this game is, so I’ll cover the differences between this and the other versions (that were released in the USA) for the benefit of those who already love replaying the game’s many endings:The PS2: You can choose between English (and not very good) voice acting or pick the Japanese. During combat, the shouts of some characters will be in English regardless (which is rough, because some of the voices you’ll hear a lot (Flonne) are VERY annoying in English.)The PSP: When you choose the language, it applies to both the cut scenes and to ALL the combat. Very nice. You get the mode where you play through the game as Etna. You can track of your ‘collection’ (which items in the game you’ve ever owned, including rarity), how many of your own people you’ve killed, which monster types and character types you’ve unlocked as playables, and so on. A bug broke the ability to see how many times each senator has attended the dark congress with.

Jeu absolument génial, durée de vie théoriquement illimitée , bon gameplay, scénario poussé, nombreuses touches d’humour, combats épiques, tous public,

Bought it as a Xmas gift. Not sure about problems because I won’t be playing it.But I have my own and I loved it. The only missables are the ones where New Game+ doesn’t solve anything.Hyperdrive, killing an Item God without stealing their items and Marjolys’ equipped gear.It does not have Japanese Audio as an option though.

Great game easily one of my favorites had it for the ps2 and just had to have it the ps2 and psp versions are better but not by a terribly large degree well worth it

This game is for the obsessive level-upper; if you thought that 100-cap levels in the Final Fantasy series was a huge CON of the series because it meant that eventually you had to turn to another game to warm your heart through the bitter cold nights, look no further than this game. You can level these characters to 9999 and reincarnate them to enjoy leveling them to 9999 again and again and again…you get the picture. Sell all your possessions folks, because for less than $30 you can enjoy limitless entertainment of Disgaea DS.Enjoy the customization of leveling your abilities, your weapons, your pets, your shoes, your food, your clothes, even your illegal drugs! (The name soma, an item in the game, is derived from a government approved `Happy Drug’ in Alex Huxley’s `A Brave New World’ and there is no doctor to sanction or prescribe the dangers of `leveling up’ your drugs in Disgaea. Suspicious, nonetheleast.) I can think of little in this game that one cannot level up, aside from maybe friendship, romance, or other such feelings.Needless to say, the possibilities are limitless. It is a strategy/RPGers wet dream. I have dreamt of the day that I could fight through hordes of enemies and spend countless hours getting my chewing gum to level 99, then having the pleasure of scorning the Item God in battle at level 100 with my armada of battle-hardened warriors, and in the face of victory, in the aftermath of the battle sitting aside my comrades-in-arms in the tavern sipping.
