If you liked the 1st game, this will be more of the same with a few new twists. The puzzles and dreams have replaced the collector cards. You can mine with the dwarfs and use those stones as forms of payment in some areas. The café is back, now with a stage and dance party. There is a lot of re-doing quests to get items you need, which becomes a bit tedious, but none of them take more than 15 minutes. Your fishing rod doesn’t scare away fish if you cast right on a fish, that’s an improvement! I’m nearing completion and it’s still holding my interest, but I don’t see myself playing it again. It has been a pretty fun 50+ hours though, not bad for the price. And it’s something my 5 year old daughter can help with. She’s in charge of fashion and dreams, I’m in charge of farming and quests.
I played a bit of this game and dang the tutorial part is long!!! I don’t remember it being that long in the 1st game. You have to meet all the main characters and then do stuff with them and they have a few catchphrases that they tend to repeat more than a few times. I just want to get into the game. >_< It’s just as cute as the 1st game though and there seems to be a bit more to do. You have your own house, apart from the cafe. It’s still one room though. I haven’t opened the cafe up yet.If you loved or even liked the 1st game, you’ll have no problems with this one. It’s pretty much the same stuff, just different worlds to explore. I only gave it 4 stars because the tutorial part seems unnecessarily long considering you’re doing the same stuff as you did in the 1st game. Get ace ensembles, greet everyone, gather materials, fish…etc… I still really like it though. Like I said, it’s just as cute as the 1st game.
If you played the first Disney’s Magical World, then you know what to expect from this game. What I didn’t expect was that this version would be better than the original. The town is larger, and it’s adorable to be neighbors with your favorite Disney Characters. You can explore their homes and read the cute descriptions of their decorations and personal things. The game is much longer than the first, and the worlds are very detailed and true to its particular Disney movie. Being a huge fan of both Disney and Sim games, I was enchanted by the first game. This sequel is a upgrade in quality beyond what I would have expected. If I had a little girl, I could imagine her squeaking in delight the first time she has a play date with Minnie, or the first time she meets Olaf from Frozen. As it is, my 7 year old son loves the dungeons and collecting pieces to build things. If you aren’t familiar with the first game or the simulation genre, let me explain. It’s a lot like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon, or even The Sims. The game has dungeons where you destroy mischievous ghosts with your magic wand, but it is largely a nonviolent game. In the game you explore your town as well as new worlds that open up as the game progresses. You have a cafe where you make money by selling Disney themed recipes, and you complete challenges like collecting many different items to decorate your cafe. I’ve been playing the game since launch and there’s definitely a lot more to do in this game vs the first Disney Magical World. The one thing I didn’t like had to be the super long tutorial (shows in the game as "Recommended Stickers"). You have to get through the agonizing tutorial before you’re given any kind of freedom to roam around and do as you please. Yes, the sticker system is still in place for this game (every time you achieve something you unlock more stickers. Different areas in town will unlock something new once you have certain amounts of stickers).They replaced the trading cards from the previous game with puzzle pieces that you can use to enter a dream episode and play around in with different Disney characters depending on what puzzles you collect. This game is kind of a mash up between Kingdom Hearts and Animal Crossing. You still fight ghosts with your magic wand that Yen Sid gives you, you still run a café, fish, grow a garden, make clothes and furniture.There’s a few new features: 3 little pigs–different times throughout the day, 1 of the 3 little pigs will be selling house renovations; straw, wood, and brick. New worlds–the little mermaid, lilo and stitch, frozen, and snow white. Returning worlds would be Winnie the Pooh and Alice in Wonderland. My four year old plays this game on her 2DS and really enjoys it. The tasks are simple and easy to understand. However, reading is required and will require the help of an adult or decent reading comprehension. It’s not just for little kids either.
