Intro:I’ve had the first one since launch and loved it, so as soon as I heard news of this “sequel” I was instantly pumped and ready to get it. I pre-ordered it off retrolio and the day came when I got it in the mail. This is also a fighting game for those new to this final fantasy installment rather than an RPG like the other installments.Plot:Story is the same as the first. Two “Gods” Chaos (Evil) and Cosmos (Good) are in an eternal battle with the aid of other Heroes and Villains from other final fantasy titles (1 – 13).Game play:The story mode is a different approach as before you would move around a board like a game piece/chess piece. However this time you are now allowed to roam and adventure like in other titles with a roam-able world, until you enter a dungeon and it resembles the first one with the board like game play. The fighting is improved with a lot of new features, such as assist characters are now allowed in battle along with a new way to play (RPG Mode) rather than it was initially introduced in Dissidia (Action Mode). The difference in between these two is the action mode gives you “full” control of the character where as RPG mode gives you a menu and you select your action and the computer automatically does it for you. I’ve tested RPG mode and it’s just as responsive as action mode.Graphics:Just on par as I expected for a PSP game. Square Enix does not disappoint when it comes to this.Sound:Music is superb again as I expected for a Final Fantasy title with.

This game is not a sequel of dissidia original story, this game is for experts that played dissidia 1 because this game is too hard to finished,Cosmos and Chaos had a war an eon ago, now we know what was the last hope for ending the conflict forever, with new characters like Final Fantasy XIII lightinig, new scenes, new costumes and alternative this game has a prequel esperdad, unfortunately increasing game difficulty and to get through this very difficult and you can not transfer your accessories and summons from Dissidia Final Fantasy making the game becomes complicated, new innovations in this game is the ability to download songs and costumes from Playstation Network increasing excitement to the game, being that this is the possible end of Dissidia. My conclusion: Although the game features a precise pattern, fails to overcome DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY, since it has an OPENING repeated and a new one as expected and the way history is not as lasting as Dissidia Final Fantasy.rating: 8.9

I didn’t play more than a few hours of the first Dissidia, so keep that in mind for this review. Once you get over the learning curve, this game is exceptional – far better than I expected when I purchased it.- Overworld map is extremely fun to mess around with. You can collect treasure chests, shop from Moogle shops, smash open boulders and slide around to nearby islands, and even engage roaming enemies and try to secure a sneak attack. I’ve seen some reviews saying that it’s kind of bare-bones, but I can’t really think of any other traditional world maps that let you even do that much. It’s a simple, pleasant addition to the fighting gameplay.- The new characters are all great, and they all play very differently.- Quest creation mode, where you can write your own dialogue for custom quests.- Amazing soundtrack loaded with hits from all the games, and a few original ones.- The whole first Dissidia campaign is on here as well. You could easily put in 100+ hours leveling up everyone and purchasing all of the collectibles.I would go so far as to say that this is the best single player fighting game ever made. No other fighting game’s one player mode offers as much content, that is as fun to go through. In competitive play, I could easily see some balance issues cropping up, but single player this is as good as it gets. The story is not great, but it didn’t ever prevent my enjoyment of the game. Parts of it are fairly dark, despite the cheesy dialogue.

The flow chart for this game is if you haven’t gotten a PSP/Vita yet, and you are a fan of both Final Fantasy and fighting games (there are elements of power stone.) then yes, you should get this. I bought the Japanese Dissidia when it came out, then was thrilled when it was released locally in English, and was confused when I heard about this version 012 was going to work. I’m happy I got it, and buying the first English Dissidia wasn’t a complete waste because your data transfers over.

Missed this title by about ten years, but nothing like quarantine to make you want to catch up on the games you’ve missed! Definitely an improvement over the original Dissidia. Shipped fast and arrived in good condition.

I have not played the previous Dissidia game, so this is not a comparison to that release.I love this game because of the insane amount of content, customization, and extras. Soul Calibur used to give fans some lovely extras, but recently the games haven’t really had as much (except the content for purchase…), same with Street Fighter and others. So I was very happy with the amount of content to unlock! There are several modes. At first, many characters, and most additional costumes are locked on the VS mode, so you can pick from a handful of players. After acquiring PP points on the story mode, you can purchase and unlock new characters and costumes, stages, music, and other content. Wow!I have been playing Final Fantasy since I was a wee one, back when the first game came out in 1988 (I was 9), and I was hooked. I have since played through every numbered Final Fantasy title (except 11, which I played but didn’t really ‘finish’). So seeing a lot of the characters from previous games was a treat. I listed the characters below and then a few pros and cons. I must say that this is a wonderful 2d/3d fighting game and a stunning release on the PSP. The overworld area on story mode is large and interesting. The graphics are amazing for a handheld, the voice acting well done (and there is a lot of it), and the controls fluid. One note: thank goodness you can change the character movement from the analog stick to the D-pad. I hated trying to control the character with.
