After hearing the arcade version was getting a PS4 port I had bought for nastolgic purposes. I played this until the psp’s dpad lost its right arrow. If only the PS4 version was like this. A world map, solo fights, a dungeon mode, with a story that continues the Dissidia mythos. But at least the mobile game is good. And you get a large cast.

Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy is a sequel to Dissidia Final Fantasy and is Fan service to the core. It brings together some of the most popular Final Fantasy Heroes and Villains together for a typical battle of saving the world. Read more for details, or read the end for overall review. The entire cast from Dissidia Final Fantasy returns with the introduction of new characters Lightning (FF13), Kain (FF4), Vaan (FF12), Tifa (FF7), Laguna (FF8), Yuna (FF10), among a few secret characters. Fans that have demanded voice acting for their favorite characters and have been given so. Fans have had mixed reaction to the voice acting of the game however. Some of the voice acting is very good while others could use some work (Exdeath sounds like he’s sick when he speaks half the time). Partly the script can be blamed since you will likely see characters who say some funny lines that they normally never use. But the cast of characters selected is almost perfect with the exception of not adding Vivi or even Garnet(-.-)9/10.The Story is better than it was in the first Dissidia but doesn’t still meet with Final Fantasy Standards of story telling. Once again a war between the two gods Cosmos and Chaos rages on and you will learn a few extra things if you’re a veteran of Dissidia and notice a few changes. There’s one scene where the dialogue sounds and looks funny during Yuna’s chapter worth noting. This is just one a number of things that Square probably over-looked in their rush to meet.

This second one kind of ruined the first one by adding the original game into it. Honestly, if that was there strategy then they should have never made the first one and just came out with this one. It would have made the story more worth the price. Over all though it’s a fun game and it’s nice seeing all the characters you love fight once more for something new.

I really enjoyed this one. It is one of the few sequels that Square Enix has put out that is actually as good as its predecessor. Having a worldmap is much better than the chess board type setup that the original had, and the addition of both the assist system, and some of my favorite characters(Gilgamesh and Laguna) really made this game better. I only have two complaints about it. One: If you import a save from the original you don’t get to keep your gear. Two: Towards the endgame it gets extremely difficult, not through actual difficulty, but through the enemies have way to much health. Overall though, it is a great game, and I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the original, or was looking for a fun game for their PSP.

I love, love, love this game. It’s really cool, different from what I’ve played in the past. Nice graphics. ^_^

This is a fighting game with an rpg like mode aka story mode. So theres no rpg like battles although you can set the options up so instead of controlling you character directly you control him through a menu that plays similar to many rpgs.So yes they meshed fighting game with rpg elements but it is still a fighting game. The story is rather basic and imo after you clear the story mode go back and watch the videos in order to fit all the story together because to me it seemed like there wasnt much story til i did at which point i realized there was some story to it. This game plays out like an overcomplicated fighting game that is fun if you can get past the frustration of learning it. Great way to waste time if you have time to waste. Great game high difficulty for a single player mode so if you like final fantasy and or fighting games or maybe just a challenge you will probly enjoy something about this game and theres lots content to like.

I haven’t gotten too far in this game yet but I’ve loved it so far. I’m just getting into the Final Fantasy games so I’m not too familiar with the characters but the gameplay is brilliant. I love that you can choose to perform all the actions yourself or revert to the RPG mode of just selecting set actions for them to perform. The latter choice is good to familiarize yourself with the game.

The combat took a little bit of getting used to, but once I figured out the nuances of combat and learned the controls, I was having a lot of fun. It gets a little grindy near the end, but the content until that point is rapid and relatively easy if you want it to be. The option to level up outside of the storyline allows you to choose how hard the game is, until of course, you get to some of the special fights. From then on, it’s a lot of mechanics and skill. The storyline was surprisingly interesting for a fighting game, and the RPG elements fit nicely into the gameplay.Oh, even though this is advertised as the prequel to Dissidia, it should still be played second. There are a lot of concepts in this game, absent in the first, that make it a proper sequel even if the events come before the original game.

I was very skeptical of the final fantasy fighting game. But when I started to get into it I was hooked. I spent 3 years on this game completely to the point of spending hours per day whenever I had free time. I do recommend it a lot.
