When I got this game, I thought "ok, I’m back for some ACTION!" then I was right. The action in this game is getting tougher, yes, but that is only if you not use the "Artifact." There are a lot of monsters during middle of the game and closing of the game, which makes me wanna replay it with different diffuculty. I started my first play in recruit, but I found it still very challenging since there are a lot of places where you only have a little room to dodge a lot of fireballs flying towards you. You have to use the "Artifact." Maybe I was saving up those charges, and did not use it a lot at where you have to.There are more mini games in the expansion, some are for a little rest from the scare.the graphic are similar, but! I am getting a laggy gameplay even if I choose the lowest quality. well, maybe I asked too much. I like to play my game smooth, a bit of weaker graphic doesn’t matter, just want it smooth, but this expansion is lagging me. That is the only downside of it though. The new weapons are interesting, but I want my chainsaw back! ..erm.. even though I never use it in the original gameplay…ha

the expansion pack added a little scary to it.. I still cant play it when the music is up. I have to turn the sound down because it scares me.
Green_Froggy –
Good game but felt kinda flat compared to the first one. Already wowed by the first one so this is too little and too late for any real impact. Still good addition though.

This game, if viewed as an add-on rather than a title on its own, is very good. The graphics are equal to Doom 3 and the music and sounds are pretty much the same. The game takes place a few years after the accident. You take control of a marine who’s the only survivor in another accident that kills all your teammates and opens a portal to Hell again. You begin making your way to Dr. McNeil to find a way to close the portal, fighting demons along the way.Something that sets apart Doom 3 and RoE is the Artifact. You no longer have the Soul Cube from D3; in its place is the Artifact that can be powered up after killing bosses. After the first boss, you gain the ability to slow down time. This becomes helpful in some of the tighter situations with monsters, along with aiding you in some of the game’s puzzles. You collect “ammo” for the Artifact by sucking the souls out of corpses, conveniently situated around the levels. There is also the Super Shotgun, which delivers twice the damage of the Shotgun but takes longer to reload. The Grabber makes an appearance, which is basically a weapon that can “grab” projecticles out of the air and redirect them towards the enemy. The storyline is a little bland because it’s hard to believe this whole catastrophe can happen *again*. Yet since this is an expansion pack, one can’t expect much of a storyline. Some of the bads: The game is much shorter than D3. It will take you about half as long as it took you to beat D3. Other than this, I can’t t.

As stated on the front of the box, this is a expansion to the previously released DOOM III and not a true sequel. The Story (The Game) literally picks up right were the first one left off 18 months later. The only difference is this time you are a different Marine exploring the Martian Ruins (The original Marine is only mentioned at the begining Credits as the Sole survivor of the events of DOOM III, more than likely he was medically discharged and on permenant VA disability for psychiactric care) and lead this time by ELizabeth McNeil (Only mentioned on her and Swanns PDAs from DOOM III but not actually seen) who gives the Marine his marching orders through the lost Martian civilization. The only full blown returning character (Other than the Computer Voice) is Dr. Martin Betrugar as seen at the end of DOOM III as a mutated HELL Demon trying to regain access to our universe and conquer Earth. The Game plays just like DOOM III, the only new weapons is a double barreled Shotgun, The Grabber: very useful for not having to replinish your ammo on and can recycle your enemies fire balls, and The Hell Stone AKA THe Artificat: replaces the Soul Cube in this game but slightly different use than the Soul Cube (Slows down time). THey took out the Chainsaw (Witch I missed) and the previouslly mentioned soul cube, Other than that the controls are the same along with the same Doom FUN!PARENTS BE ADVISED: This game is not for Younger Kids and contains explict violence, Gore, and offensive.

This game is 10x better than the game it came with. Get this game and you will experience doom! The level designs are more interesting and frightening. The action is faster and makes you think quick. Much Much better than regular doom3.

Better overall. Smooth install. Better weapons. The Artifact is fun to use. Faster and more variable levels. Just when it starts to get too tedious (and it does), some element of the game significantly changes and it’s more fun again. Only a few problems to solve during the game. There was nothing particularly amusing about this game, no real levity, and I never really felt like my monster fighting skills were improving from level to level. Neat graphics though, claustrophobic environment, better blasting satisfaction, but for me…no real immersion. For a WORLD GONE MAD, goofy and imaginative, visually very interesting, often really creepy, a “how the hell am I supposed to do that”, blast ’em to pieces, WHOA kinda game…. PAINKILLER :)

I played Doom 3 when it first came out, but never picked up the expansion until recently. I must say, it was a lot of fun to get back into that world again. This expansion does what any good expansion should; it gives you more levels from a familiar game, with some new features/additions in the form of weapons and a very cool artifact. The double-barrel shotgun makes it’s return from Doom 2, and it packs the same punch as before!Playing this game late at night by myself with no lights on gave me that creepy feeling I remember from Doom 3, Doom 2, and the original Doom. While the expansion is a bit short (like Doom 3), it’s hard to argue with the price, and the new weapons/artifact make it worth a purchase. I was a little disappointed with the final boss, but the rest of the game was very enjoyable and had a several of those great moments when the screen is filled with demons and you are just emptying your ammo from one weapon after another to take them all out. Classic Doom.

Being a huge fan of the Doom game series, I enjoyed both this game and “Doom 3” when purchased in 2005. But what really stands out, is the use of the chainsaw made famous in the classic games. However, I was a bit disappointed that it didn’t make its return for “Resurrection of Evil”, but still enjoyed playing it, even to this day.
