My whole family loves this game. It goes really quickly, but super fun!! We don’t take any cards out, to play, but we are all over 14 here. Our friends love it too. I recently purchased another to give as a gift. So much fun to be had with this game. and our 21 YO even likes it!!

I play this with my friends kids ages 8-13 and they love it. On game nights they always ask if i brought “The Dragon game” Its not overly complicated nor is it over-simplified. Its amazing watching their imagination take over with all the different monsters. (“This one is dad, he’s a Grumpy Troll!”)

This game is super fun! My seven year old loves it too. We’ve played it multiple times since it arrived and we keep wanting more. We have been very happy with Gamewright Games overall. This is such a great game to play to spend time with the family. What’s great about this game unlike other games is that no one can steal your points that you worked hard to earn. Anyone who plays sleeping queens or monopoly deal knows what I’m talking about. We truly love this game and are so glad it’s part of our collection!

My kids range from 11 to 3 and I have been wanting to get them into the RPG genre for awhile but wasn’t sure how they’d handle a full blown D&D set up or one of the board games. This game has been great at teaching them risk vs reward and the attack mechanics of RPG games. It’s very simple and easy to understand even before playing the game so the learning curve makes it easy. Fun times. And we have already set up a few house rules as the game lends itself to a lot of customization.

The first several tries this game was very fun, but we soon learned to draw cards until we had enough for a 6 card Strike. Once you have that, you can breeze through the whole Creature deck with no resistance… making the game so easy it isn’t really fun anymore. However, with a couple minor rule changes it can be challenging and fun again.1. Don’t end the game when both dragons are captured, play through the whole deck.2. Don’t use all 6 dice for normal capture attacks. Use only 4, with exceptions for the single-use Enhancement cards that act as an extra card or dice. This makes capturing upper level creatures difficult and requires players to use the different capture methods and Enhancements. With those minor fixes to the rules, this game is fantastic for kids and adults. Highly recommended!

Bought this for my son (he is 4 and loves games and dragons) and he loves this game. We play this frequently and it’s helping him a lot with his math and reasoning skills. We play with this with friends and extended family all the time – super quick and easy to learn how to play. Would strongly recommend for game nights where there are at least 3 people to play though.

We have children ages 5-11 with very different interests, but they all enjoy this game. We even went so far as to customize our own cards to add to the deck. My husband created a leprachaun card that will allow you to steal someone’s enchantment (use only once), my daughter created and ‘angry centaur’ to capture for points. The basic game was very easy for my 5 year old to pick up. I like that it’s portable, as well. Easy to take on trips.

My 9 year old recently played an RPG at school and wanted to find one to play at home. I’m not ready to delve completely into the world of D&D yet, but magic and dragons and fantastical creatures are a big draw for the kiddo. This game was so fun for family game night and I love that the instructions are clear and have “hacks” you can employ to tailor the game to the amount of time you have. It’s good family fun and we love it!

I was looking for an entry level card/dice/fantasy game for my family and young kids. I have a 4 year old and a 6 year old. Both loved the game, and while it was easy to learn the rules for my 6 year old, unassisted gameplay is difficult for both in terms of strategy. However, my 6 year old is definitely getting the hang of the probability thing. What most surprised me about this game is how fun it is just for adults. It has just enough strategy, luck, and challenge to be a great filler game. So, for kids or adults, this is a great game!
