Easily one of the best RPGs available on the go at the moment.

I wanted to buy this game cause, well i Started playing dragon quest 11. And i fell in love with the game and so im hunting Down all the games To play them.

Used to play this when I was younger, its a HUGE improvement over the original. They tend to re-use character models for NPCs a lot, but in a world this huge, its understandable. They completely remade the game from the ground up, it isnt just a port with better graphics. It still keeps the spirit of the original while bringing a completely new experience overall.

I love Dragon Quest but this is my least favorite game. I still enjoyed it but it’s very frustrating. The game has a great story to it but there is way too much go to A, now go to B, go back to A, go to C, back to A, back to B, back to C, and so on . Most DQ games I can just happily play for hours but this one I had to save and come back to it later because it just kind of exhausted me. Also it takes a crazy amount of time to master classes and vocations. It is home to my least liked character in all of DQ: Maribel. Ugh. Just ugh. Shut up Maribel! She’s so terrible on so many levels. Lastly, the post game is lacking. There’s just not much to it and it’s kind of pointless. Hey, it’s still Dragon Quest so I played it and enjoyed it overall. I may not replay it again or I won’t replay it for a long, long time because the other DQ games exist. Still, for me, it’s kind of like picking your least favorite song from a CD of your favorite songs. It’s still good but just not as good as DQ 4, 5, 6, 8, or 9. If you like DQ you’ll still enjoy it. Also, remember that these games are always iffy as to whether they will get localized to the West. That means if you enjoy DQ, support it so they continue to bring it over here.

Gets a little grindy, but it’s a great remake if you ever grew up playing the original.

This is my first time playing the Dragon Quest series and I’m enjoying it immensely so far. There’s a lot of ground to cover early on, story-wise. But that didn’t take away from the experience. In fact, it’s refreshing to see a game care so much about character development. The battle sequences are also pretty fun, and sometimes it can be a grind, but you can always run away from the monsters and they’ll disappear after a short time. So far so good!

I really missed this game when I used to have it for the first Playstation. They really enhanced the graphics for the 3DS, I’m glad to have it back in my library!
