Drakan is one of the top 10 PS2 games of all time. The controls are really tight when controlling both Arokh and Rynn. Speaking of Rynn she is so hot. She is definately one of the best characters in video game history. Rynn kicks Lara’s b[ottom]!!! I seriously hope they make Drakan into a movie. If Rynn wasn’t enough Arokh is by far the coolest side kick of game/entertainment history. Flying on Arokh’s back is a blast. There’s nothing like blasting orcs and other baddies from the sky. When running on the ground theres tons of detail, flowers, rocks and even grass. The levels are absolutely huge! If you are sick of 10 hour games Drakan is the game for you.If you are into games this is a must buy!

As I said before this is a great game but I have found many problems, had to start a whole new game, lost my dragon, and got a bit bored. At first when I went to Surdana and found a lot of people I notice that most people had looked the EXACTLY the same except for the Blacksmith,Qualus,Lady Myschala,Genrel(I forgot his name),and Sorecess Jade. Also the villians like Khesoll Vole and Polta looked the same.Something really buged me about this plus instead of fighting 5 different monsters you fought 5 all the same. When at the tree in the Shadowmire I noticed there was a down fall in which I had to jump or go another way. When I jumped down something bought me up to the start menu and saved my game over the file I had saved and when I died and went back to my game I kept dieing so I had to start another game. Now dragon loses, this happened a lot.First when I went through thee Yeti tunnel Arokh said he’d stay right there, when I came through another tunnel I called him and couldn’t find him.He finally came after I called him for an hour. Then the path to Northern Tundra I didn’t think Arokh would be able to pass through it so I left him outside the tunnel. When I went out the other end of the tunnel I found myself to be caught in a trap with 2 blackwings which I couldn’t target(you can’t target flyers when your Rynn which stinks),so I went back.I came back and Arokh was gone I saw his shadow but no Arokh I called him and nothing happened.I fell of the cliff where I get to Tundra and there w.

I’m so glad I bought this game. I just bought my play station 2 and this was the second game I bought. MADDEN 2002 and then DRAKAN!Drakan’s animation is comparable to MADDEN 2002. The artwork and animation are fantastic. The story is entertaining and fun. The humor is sharp.Yet, the best part about DRAKAN is the equipment, spells and variations. The side adventures you can embark on and collect more money to afford better equipment. There is a set parameter to the game, but I’m sure everybody will go about it differently.I’ve read other reviews that have said that fighting is uncreative and basically you just wail on the button. That isn’t true. In fact, dodging and blocking are crucial. You have to pary, thrust, dodge, roll, move… etc. Fighting is very sharp and when metal meets metal… sparks fly. Finally, there is one downfall, and only one. There is a cave in the NORTHLANDS that if you go into without AROK, you lose him forever. The proper way to proceed is to ride him into the cave.Recommend buy. Fantastic game. I hope there’s a sequel.

I had my doubts about this game when my mother told me about it. Being a 20 year old gamer, I am not easily impressed. This is a fantastic game for anyone. What really got my attention was that you can get lost just walking around (one minute you know where you are at and the next you dont know how to get back to a village). The combat isn’t to complex, and with a little practice and attention to detail those hard to kill “bosses” can be beaten easily. The game is all about solving puzzles which explains how you can find much much easier ways to kill opponents. If you are sick of games like 007 Agent under fire that you can beat in 1 or 2 days, then this is the game for you. You can spend a whole day alone just walking around finding weapons and increasing your funds to buy better weapons or magic. You buy weapons from blacksmiths located around the game, some have better equipment (armor and shields) and weapons than the others. You earn skill points by engaging in combat which you can use to increase skill in melee (sword, axe, etc.), archery, and magic. Increasing skill points allows you to use stronger weapons with greater damage points (trust me you WILL need it!!). Enemies start out fairly easy but get harder as you find your way through the game. Overall this is an excellent game. If you are sick of fighting your way from point A to point B, try this game which creates a perfect mixture of combat and puzzles to keep you addicted for days on end. Personall.

I really enjoyed this game. I started playing it right after I came back from vacation. Once I started, I could not stop. It took me about a month to finish it. After all, I have to work so that I can get more games. The graphics are good, the storyline is good and the movements are not bad either. For me the game was exciting from start to finish. Not a bad choice. I hope they make a sequel.

This is one of my favorite RPG. I can play it over and over. It is a great fun game. You are a dragon rider who must open the gateways to awaken the ancient slumbering dragons to save every one. You have mlee and magic. I have had this game since it came out and still love it.

Drakan:Ancients Gates absolutely rocks! The player Rynn is simple to control and has an enormous depth. She can use hand-to-hand weapons, a bow and magic. The dragon Arokh totally rocks also! Flying around blowing stuff away is really fun. I had trouble targeting at first, but if you lock onto a target using R2 it is really simple. Graphically, the game looks like is running at a higher resolution than any of my other PS2 games. The special effects are really good. Overall, Drakan looks like it will be a classic. A must-buy.
