Driver Renegade is the best driving game so far on the 3DS. With very little competition other than Ridge Racer and Asphalt it is no surprise that Renegade easily leads the pack. With a graphic novel style story that is clearly aimed for mature audiences (PARENTS BEWARE!!!), this Driver title is a blast for mature… I repeat… MATURE audiences only. Hence the M rating. The story follows hot shot, driver Tanner on his wild ride through the seedy side of New York. There are pimps, hookers, drugs, lots of violence and lots of bad language. While the story is only 20 missions (missions are about 5 minutes each), don’t expect much more than 2-3 hours from the story.Fortunately there is more than just the Story Mode of Driver Renegade. There is a Career Mode which includes roughly 84 events spread out over 7 different race variations (12 for each of the 7 race types). The addition of the Career Mode greatly extends the replayability of Driver Renegade with the chance to improve your time or score over the 84 events. Along with the Story and Career Mode, your Garage can house 50 different cars that are gradually unlocked as you progress through the Story and Career Modes.Driver Renegade boasts some decent graphics and the 3D is well done. The city is nicely created and includes many roads and back alleys to race on. Controls for the game are alright considering that I’m used to the modern control scheme for most racers. Most modern racers allow you to use the two shoulder buttons f.

Driver Renegate : just had 2 play modes1) Story Mode: U are and undercover ex-cop working to a U.S. senator maikin justice by his own, U can play 20 missions (about 6 minutes per mission) in every mission you must destroy cars, buildings, etc, and it is very entretainment, but its a little short.2) Careear Mode: and for me, the core of the game, there are 7 different types of carearThe game itself is very fun game, but it is not perfect, there a lot of disappointing things, first, the control shema, U can’t change the control shema, but current control shema is god so far, next, the driving camera angles, U just had only one camera angle, the game could be better if it at last had 2 camera angles, front and back camara angles, the front camara angles could be very helpfully for at last 2 reason 1 to watch your oponets or targets behind U and 2 watch your damage(and after a while burning) card, the cards detaills, ell the cars are’nt very detaills as well, but its still look god, and are up to 50 cards model to chooseBut, the gods things about this game, the 3D effect are very god done, the huge city, U had a lot of space to drive your car, from drstroy buildings or destroy cars to reach a checkpoint u can choose your path across the city, other god about this game are the explosions and burning effect and the driving experience are very smooth and nice.

Driver Renegade is broken up into two parts Story and career. Story plays out like the old driver games only with a modern/arcade feel. You’ll get in car chases, get aways, demolition (cars/buildings) with movie like physics. Your car acts like a tank, cars/buildings explode with a touch, and cars skid and jump with ease. The more reckless you drive the more your rage meter builds up giving you more boost. The story mode gets repetitive but is hold together with a ‘so cliché it’s good’ story and unlocking cars. Career is were the real meat is, with over 50 upgradeable cars to use in all kinds of races, demolition modes in the streets of new york ( open in story as well) it all makes the game feel more fleshed out with it’s racing action than the story. 3D looks great as well while sadly it dose not add a sense of speed it really opens up the streets and makes the cars/explosions pop out. While there is no free roam (nothing to see any way) and no multiplayer Driver Renegade is still a strong racer on the 3DS and highly recommend it for those who have a lead foot and appetite for destruction.

This is not the deepest racer around. You’ve likely played better. But it managed to grow on me.At first, it just seemed like a shallow racer. You crash into certain objects to gain some boost, and drive to your destination. Really, that doesn’t change, but you get better at it and it feels more rewarding. Trying to drive into the objects that will reward you with boost while avoiding the objects that will cause you to crash, getting the hang of the drift mechanic, and finding the best routes through the city; it feels great. The game also has you constantly unlocking cars to play with, and some variety in the mission types to keep it interesting. The simple truth is, if you’ve played a mission based racer lately, maybe something from the Need for Speed series, the other Driver games, or something like that, you probably won’t manage to get into this one. It’s been a long time for me, and this one really managed to grab me.
