This game sonic the hedgehog cd and sonic the hedgehog 4 episode 2 sonic the hedgehog 4 episode 1 most the first three game happen on sonic earth I am not sure of the last one now the main review I own this game on the Xbox 360 and Nintendo ds collection so far this is the only where I am not having trouble getting the chaos emerald at all
I am so incredibly ecstatic about owning this game again. It took a little while to get it to work…just turning the power off and on quite a bit but it works just fine now. I really know nothing about the technological aspects…all I know is I feel like a child again playing this game and it’s awesome. And I get to share the awesomeness with my 4 year old sonic fan.
One of the original sega classic’s from the 1980’s. A very simplistic idea put to very good use! A must have for anyone who likes to play video games!

the original sonic. i did not buy my game from retrolio but the quality from the early 90’s is good. the missions are great and challenging been a few years that i have played my game though. this is one of the games that helped Sega to run strong enough. this is worth the price a collectable here.

In 1991, the world was introduced to what would become the pinnacle of speedy gaming: Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. It was Sega’s attempt to make themselves the popular gaming company after Nintendo released super Mario Bros. 3 in 1990. And I am happy to say they made a great success.The story starts off when we’re introduced to Sonic–an anthropomorphic, speedy, blue hedgehog with red shoes and the ability to curl up into a ball and run super fast. The storyline, however, is simple: Sonic must save all the woodland creatures from his arch-nemesis, Dr. Robotnik/Eggman.Almost all the levels in this game take total advantage of Sonic’s ability to perform speedy platforming. However, such obstacles such as Robitnik’s robots, spikes, and bottomless pits will try to stop you from reaching the end of the level. Thankfully for you and your speedy hedgehog, you’ll find powerups such as speed boots–which let you run extremely fast–invincibility–which allows you to kill enemies at the touch, and extra lives. One of the last things you can pick up in this game are rings. If you get hurt while you are holding at least one ring, all your rings will fly out of your reach. However, if you get hurt WITHOUT holding any rings, Sonic will die.There are a total of six zones in this game. From the first to last, they are: Green Hill, Marble Zone, Spring Yard, Labyrinth, Starlight, and Scrap Brain. Each zone has three acts–two of which you will simply have to run through.
I remember it well it was December 1991 and I was patiently waiting for Christmas.I remember all the hype about the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. After renting the Super Nintendo and Super Mario World I decided that I actually wanted a Sega Genesis because the Sonic The Hedgehog cartridge came with it and I already owned the original 8 bit Nintendo(while the Super NES proved to be great it seemed just like more of the same compared to the original NES just with 16 bit graphics). I asked for the Genesis and when Christmas time came I got an original Sega Genesis system with a built in headphone jack and it came with this awesome new(at the time) game called Sonic The Hedgehog. It reminded me of 1985 when the classic NES system came with Super Mario Bros. Much like that title it set a new standard for platform video games with it’s fast paced action,catchy yet quirky music and great controls (A,B and C buttons all made Sonic jump the D pad moved him around and that was about it). Like Super Mario World, Sonic The Hedgehog was an instant classic but in terms of originality and fun Sonic was even more revolutionary. The levels were all colorful and easy such as the beautiful Green Hills and Starlight Zone plus the brilliant Scrap Brain levels, but like another reviewer said the best part of this game were the special stages. If you collected all 6 chaos emeralds you get a different ending with Dr Robotnkik stomping on the words THE END. While other Sonic games like the loc.

A classic. Sega’s mascot in his first game. Grab rings, get the chaos emeralds, defeat Dr. Robotnic and keep him from enslaving animals for use in his machines!! I could see some hollywood actors in the blue guy’s place, but it wouldn’t be much fun without the speed!

What can I say? Sonic the Hedgehog is one of my favorite games of all time. I remember the first time I popped this little number into my Sega Genisis so many years ago. This game captured my heart back in 1992, and sits there, still to this day. This game has it all. Likable characters, awesome music, nice graphics, and pure fun gameplay. Sorry if I’m sounding a little bit biased right now, but it’s the truth.You play as Sonic, a cute little Hedgehog, who speeds around levels jumping on various enemies and collecting rings until you reach the end of each zone. Along the way, there are many traps and other obstacles having you make good use of you’re jumping abilities. As you can tell already, this game is a platformer. But this game had something that other platformers(at the time) didn’t…. speed. One of the main gameplay hooks was that Sonic was quite a speedy character. In order for you to be succesful, you must learn how to control Sonic’s extraordinary speed. At the end of each zone, you have to fight against your arch-enemy, Doctor Eggman. Eggman is always the boss at the end of each of the stages you complete. The game mainly consist of six different stages, each divided into three acts.The graphics are actually really nice. Sonic isn’t as thin as he is in the sequals, but he still looks good. He looks more cutesy, but that really isn’t a bad thing. Enemies look nice as well. They really aren’t really menacing, but more on the cute side. But, like I said, this really.

Ah, sonic the Hedgehog. The game that established the Genesis as a figure in gaming, the character that became a pop culture icon (at least in the gaming world, but it went a little further), was able to stand right beside Mario, and lest I forget, gave Nintendo the first taste of competition. I had a Genesis, but I sold it, but after playing it on the great Sega Genesis collection on my PSP, the old days returned. This game was a classic in so many ways.This game was fast, and gave out the message that fast games are fun games. Sonic was a great looking game, with wonderful themed areas, which would beat Mario’s plain blocky world. The game was also great because it eliminated many cheap deaths. The games during the time were great, but alot of the games (even Mario) had the annoying death thing. If you hit something, you die. It gets really really annoying, and it’s no help either that you usually have to start over again (the usual way to continue would be to memorize annoying passwords). Sure, Sonic had many start over deaths, but the fact that there were shields and rings Rings are much easier to get back if you lose them, and since it’s quite easy to get them after they fall out of Sonic, made the game a lot less annoying. And it was easier to kill enemies. SOnic may not be as revolutionary as Mario (or the fact that new Sonic games get 3,4,5 scores, while Mario still goes strong), but I could see a discussion on which game had a better design. I’ll admit that whenever I think of this game, I do get pretty nostalgic over it since this was really the first videogame I ever got heavily engrossed in, since I got this at the age of four on Christmas Day of 1991 (I honestly don’t remember much of my life before then). However, the nostalgia factor does NOT influence the rating I have for this game, I’m strictly rating this game on how much quality I think it has. Anyway, on to the review.STORYIn this game, an evil scientist named Dr. Robotnik is turning animals into malicious robots and is searching for the six Chaos Emeralds, which he thinks will make him rule Mobius. You play Sonic, a blue hedgehog who’s really fast and is determined to stop Robotnik from getting the emeralds all while saving his furry and feathered friends.Admittedly, the story and characters aren’t works of art, but the brilliance of this game lies in its innovative style of platforming, lush graphics, and excellent sound.INNOVATIONWhile it’s been said millions of times before, Sonic really set itself apart from the other platformers out there for its fast speed. While this game series isn’t Ninja Gaiden-level difficult, Sonic’s speed really makes a gamer refine his or her motor skills and hand-eye coordination to make precise jumps and to jump or run all at the right times. Despite the fact that this game is famed for being fast, there are some spots in the game where you have to slow down to properly avoid certain obstacles, which I don’t real.

This game is one of the oldies but goodies..hehe. I remember playing it on my Sega Genesis when I was about six years old. I loved this game. I found the first two levels easy to beat but it became extremely harder as I went on. Sadly to say, I had to get rid of it two years ago along with the Sega. But I totally reccomend this game to anyone up to a challenge! :-) Happy Gaming!

This game is the classic that helped Sega’s Genesis console gain success in the early 90’s. It was the answer to Nintendo’s Mario. I have had a great time so far playing this game on my Genesis. I never had a Genesis as a kid, because when I was born PlayStation and Nintendo 64 were already being released, but I always wanted one. This game is one of the reasons I wanted one, and I don’t regret getting it. I’d recommend this game to anyone looking for a solid, beautiful, classic platformer. It’s the only one I’ve played in the series, so I can’t tell about how it compares to later entries, but this game is excellent. The graphics, sound, and gameplay are all great for this game’s time. There’s a reason Sonic games are still being made today in 2013. I would recommend this game to anyone.

This was the first Sonic game ever.It also is to this day still good.The plot is basic.Evil genius,known as Dr.Robotnik,is creating robots out of helpless animals.But there is one animal he can’t catch.He is Sonic the Hedgehog.Out of all the Sonic games,this is the one with the best zones.My favorite is the Starlight Zone.This was revolutionary at the time,because there was much faster frame changing.The music(like in all Sonic games)is awesome,especially the Green Hill zone.This is a masterpiece that has survived the tests(and changes)of time.If you own a Genesis buy this game.You WILL love it.
