it was a gift but my grandson loves it.

I am playing the XBox version.Pros: –*Lots* of things to do. Four categories: main quests, secondary quests for specific groups (guilds, “Great Houses”, cultural groups), minor quests, places to explore like caves and such. They all work well together too.–Nifty controller features. Like the game pausing as you find that perfect spell, potion or weapon in your inventory to kill a bad guy. Controls are pretty easy to memorize too.–*More* things to do. Make your own spells and potions, customize items like weapons and armor through magic(enchantment), explore all kinds of thieving possibilities, learn and upgrade lots of skills.–Not overly gory and seems to reward good deeds more than evil which makes it a nice game for the young and impressionable.Cons: –Has a tendency to freeze. This is easily solved by saving often and having some backup saved games in case of file corruption.–A few minor annoyances, getting stuck in little spaces and the characters sometimes get in your way and it is very frustrating to try to get around them.–Not being able to try again on a quest that you screwed up or turned down earlier. Sometimes, a request is made for a quest and you can’t exit talking until you’ve answered yes or no.Overall, a great game and the price is excellent for the amount of gameplay you get.

I say this because I believe Morrowind suffered from what we now call the “port” syndrome, where it was developed for one system, then was translated to another. In this case, this game is a “PC port” – A game made for the PC and converted to the Xbox, and from my own experience, it didn’t work very well. However, if you don’t have a capable PC available, this is the way to go, and if you are patient enough, this game will certainly reward you. You will notice that the graphics are not on par with even the old Xbox (more evidence of being a PC port), but you should overlook this- the game is more fun and sucks you in if you give it a chance.I played the Xbox version before I bought the PC version. Even as of today, that Xbox version is the game I’ve spent the most hours on by far (can’t recall how many). I had issues with the game even from the beginning, including long load times (on par with the first Fable, which was bad), lag, corrupt save files, glitches, and so on. Be patient, save your game often, and you will have no problems. Keep the autosave feature on if you must, though it gets annoying after a while. Once you get far enough into the game, saving and loading begin to take a considerable amount of time, so keep this in mind. Try to avoid grabbing tons of items and moving them around; this will increase your save/load file size. Not only that, I had several instances where grabbing set items (usually stacks of coins) would make the game instantly begin saving, free.

Great game. The case did seem to have been damaged by, what I would assume was water being spilled on it. But other than that, the game work just fine. My one problem with the game is the LOOOONG waiting screens. You’re probably gonna spend a fifth of your time on this game just waiting for it to load

best RPG of all time not scratched or a ythingvery pleasednote: playing this on 360 causes sum errorsrecommend using Xbox classic

Why does this game only work for xbox 360? I can’t get it to work in my Xbox original. I posted the pictures to show my problem, and to prove that I was using the actual copy I received. (Update- after repeated removal and replacement into the system. It worked.)

Great condition considering how old of a game this is!

This is a long game, and therefore a long review. I glow about it and all its possibilities for a while, but skip a few paragraphs if you just want the straight pros and cons.I’ll get right to the point of how massive this game is by giving you a brief hypothetical scenario. First, you choose your character and decide on his or her face and hairstyle. Then let’s say you begin the game by robbing everything from the first house that you begin the game in. But the guards spot you, so you run. Once outside, another guard gets in your way so you take a swing at him, accidentally knocking out an innocent townsperson in the process. You rush into the local pawnbroker to buy a weapon, but your criminal activity makes the owner hostile towards you. So instead you just grab the spear sitting against the wall and kill him with it, looting his body of all its goods and throwing on some armor along the way. You then jump back outside and stab the guard a few times, but he has friends so you need to run. You make it to the local silt strider transportation, and catch a ride to the next town over where you join the thieves’ guild and pay the cost of clearing your name under the table. Interested in what they tell you, you decide to stay with them for awhile and hlep out their organization until the day comes when you kill them all and join the fighter’s guild instead. That’s all possible, right from the start of the game. Morrowind is incredible. Without exaggeration, you can go anywhere, a.

Well, I agree with ninety percent of the people here who say that it’s a great game… in fact, it’s really the only reason to own an xbox. Let’s face it, sony and nintendo have the majority of good games. Anyway, let me clarify a few points made by some of the other people-Long load times: Only when starting a new game or loading a save, either of which takes a little over 60 seconds. In-game load times are brief and rarely more than a second.Stability issues/freezing: depends on which version of the game you have. The original release of the game will quite literally start locking up about every twenty minutes once you put about 30-50 hours onto a save. This problem was fixed in the GOTY version and I’ve only had it freeze twice in the countless hours I’ve logged (and both times were caused by a glitch in one of the assassin guild missions, not from instability issues).Weak/no plot: baseless, if anything there are too many plots and sub-plots to keep track of, both in the main storyline(s) and among the guild houses. The main storyline starts out a bit slow but is well worth the trouble.Too much text/extraneous text: it’s a motherf***ing rpg, what did you expect?Imbalanced Character levelling: unfortunately, or fortunately if you like to cheat, the rules that underline the character creation and levelling tends to incourage abuse and the creation of unstoppable power characters. This is not entirely a bad thing but it tends to suck some of the fun out of playing when none o.
