  1. Neal P. Shank

Light, warmhearted, funny, sprinkled with a dose of morality that makes you think about what we were as a nation in ’57, and how far we still have to go. 58 years later and still no one (or team) has accomplished this amazing feat. This is truly a miracle of all that is possible if you just have a lot of desire and a little faith. An inspiring story that will be enjoyed by all, young and old, hard core fans and those that haven’t a clue as to who Buster Posey or Mo’ne are. I realize that in the world of top 10 sports movies or top 10 sports "comedy" movies this that this hasn’t even shown up on the radar gun, but it’s not for the "beaten, not a chance, wrong side of the tracks, but overcame all" testosterone fired fans, nor for the curse laden, sex and violence innuendoes of todays "comedy". This is true, inspiring, and sometimes educational movie that will make you laugh, smile, and cheer on the boys as they overcome obstacles and broke barriers that resulted in the first, true, "World Series".

  2. Grace

Such an amazing, inspiring, and TRUE story ! Loved how they switch from actual footage to the film version throughout the movie. I will watch this one again in the future. The boys on this team had not even seen a real baseball and bat when they started. The boys, their families, and the coach had many challenges in their lives. Highly recommend.

  3. Ken Wilson

You can’t judge a book by its cover but sometimes what’s in the package matches the picture on the box. Relying only on the brief Prime Video description I jumped in hoping for a feel-good movie where goodwill and determination win the day despite the odds. This movie is exactly that and more. It hits a few moral challenges along the way but manages to steer clear of being preachy…even with the constant religious overtones. There is loss, redemption and good triumphs over evil, all packaged in a thoroughly enjoyable one hour and fifty-eight minutes.

  4. T. Morehead

This movie, based on the true story about a little league team from a poor town in Mexico, is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. I show it to my fifth grade class every year and it spurs wonderful conversation about virtue, racism, poverty, faith, and of course, baseball. After watching, many students have said it is their favorite baseball movie.

  5. AFru

Fact is, this is an adaption of a real-life event. The only perfect Little League World Series game came from a Mexican sand-lot bunch of little-sized kids that just needed to prove their worth and be a part of something they admired. Action movies produced by Hollywood are usually way over done, unbelievable but entertaining, and either gross or violent, or both. This story, on the other hand, is the real McCoy. No animation needed here! The Hollywood action crowd might say it is just to nice, maybe some slow and boring. But this is a REAL story of the underdog OVERCOMING amazing odds that have never since been duplicated. I give it 3.5 or 4. The Hollywood crowd might give it a 1.5 or so.

  6. J. P. Wellborn

An important film that speaks to us as Americans today. Based on a true story, a group of young Mexican boys from Monterrey form a little league team, the first ever from Mexico, and proceed, through extensive training and discipline, to win the 1957 Little League series World Series! Imagine how awestruck they must have been, these young kids, meeting the President of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower, as well some of the baseball greats of the time, all in the wake of their impressive wins during the Little League World Series. I recommended this movie for anyone who still has a heart, still has compassion for others and can still produce tears of joy for these Southern neighbors, youngsters in the 50s, whom our nation would be officially kicking to the curb today. What a poignant, beautiful film. I highly recommend it.

  7. Just a guy

Wow! Simply wow. This is easily the best movie I have seen in this century. The story, the true story, is extremely moving. It is quite obvious from the beginning how it is going to end. But that does not matter. It is the story, the getting there, that matters. And the story is simply amazing. The whole thing looks completely unbelievable. Except… It’s true! A week before they released it in the theaters they actually showed the movie to the people it depicts (now much older than they were when the story happened, back in 1957), and even they were moved. The story is perfect. The direction is perfect. The costumes are perfect. The acting is perfect. No amazing special effects. No sex. No swearing. Just a story, a story full of heart.I did not grow up in the US. So baseball is not something I knew about while growing up, and I never picked up the baseball bug. But that does not matter. Even though this story is clearly about baseball, I was captured by the story right from the beginning, and I stayed captured till the end.No matter where you are from, no matter what your age is, no matter whether you are a regular movie goer or someone who is not into movies at all, this movie is a must-see for all. Don’t hesitate. Don’t wait another minute. Just go and buy this movie. You’ll be glad to have it. And you’ll watch it many times, over and over, for many years to come.

Actor Clifton Collins (Coach Cezar Faz) is the grand-son of the famous actor Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez. (look him up)I went to High School with Pedro G-G’s son Romario Gonzalez (he was also an actor in his youth) Class of 1965in Culver City, Cal.. Note the Black guy, played by Gosset, Jr as the great Negro League Baseball Player’Cool Papa Bell’ (Look him up). I was 10 years old and playing Little League Baseball when thisactual team was playing (I was born in 1947). I coached Little League Baseball for seven years inSeattle, Washington area (Redmond). The Little League World Series is the most importantsports event of all time….Even the Super Bowl. Watch it this year and you will understand. If you love kids playing sports, you will love this movie.WATCH THIS FILM WITH YOUR KIDS OR GRAND-KIDS.

With the rite people, the right time, passion in your preparation and the desire, without reservations to accomplish the impossible, and faith in your self, you can be a winner.

  10. golf nut

I ordered this movie because I’ve seen it before and sub. taught the last two days of school. It’s very hard to find anything that 5th graders would sit through on the last two days! There are lots of baseball players in this class, it held their attention, they loved it and it lead to lots of great discussion after.
